Progress on Dark Realm-4

Progress on tentatively titled Snow Bound

I’ve had my head tucked like a turtle’s while I’ve been working this week. I haven’t read my email, have barely answered my phone. My progress listed above isn’t impressive wordcount-wise, but I’ve been doing some revisions.

Yesterday, I shipped off the copyedited manuscript for DARKNESS BURNING, the third book in the Dark Realm series. That cut into writing time too. Also, I’ve been giving a lot of thought to what’s next for me and what sort of proposals I want to get out to publishers. I’m wondering if I need to switch some things up and maybe even jump genres. Not entirely, but just to experiment. Writing isn’t a linear kind of career. You can reinvent yourself again and again.

Is there anything in particular you’d like to see me doing?

And in case you haven’t already seen it, here’s the cover for DARKNESS BURNING.

    Icia!
Do you mean copies of Darkness Burning? No, it’s not coming out until next year. I just finished the edits on the manuscript. šŸ™

    Hi, Delilah!

Great cover…but they all have been!

On switching things around, if you even suspect you might want to jump genres, you probably should! Not that I don’t love your erotic romance…I do. But, one of the things I’ve learned the hard way is to follow my gut.

Love the cover. As for switching things up if it feels right then do it. I have a bit of reading to catch up on with your books. So I don’t know what I would like to see you write about. I know you had and have cowboy related books out. The holiday one just came out too. Hhmmmmm…I just don’t know. Recently I’ve been into stories with archeology as a theme. I enjoy bookworm-ish ladies and the men that love them.

    Val!
Thanks for the vote of confidence!

    Brandy!
Bookwormish ladies? Hmmm…the closest I’ve come to that is Lily in All Knight Long. She was a lot of fun to right and oh so curious about vamp stats!

Delilah, I really like that cover.

I have to agree with Val about what to do next. If you find yourself contemplating a genre hop, you might want to go ahead and try it.

Ooh, great cover, Delilah! And yep, what everyone else said–whatever you write, we’re likely to love it! Give it a try!

Sweet cover! It’s fabulous. But it’s a little different than the style of the first two but still great!

    Karin and Fedora!
Thanks for stopping by to comment. I’m plowing ahead on the present Work-in-Progress, but now have some other ideas floating around. Of course, I can’t help but make whatever I do sexy.

    Shayla, girlfriend!
Thanks. Yeah, it is different, but I think it’s lovely. Besides, I was tired of purple.

I love this cover. It’s so pretty. Reminds me of a couple of YA covers. I would definitely pick it up just by looking at the cover. Yeah, I know, you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, but there ya go! LOL
