Dragons, dragons everywhere…
Thursday, May 20th, 2010

I started to take just a picture of my growing Disney/McDonalds collection of dragon action figures from the movie How to Train Your Dragon, but realized when I looked around my office that I’m becoming a little obsessed. Dragons are my new collectible.

I think I only lack one dragon—the one with the boy riding his dragon’s back… hint, hint!

My sister brought this one back to me from Guam. It’s carved in jade.

The little green one is another of the Disney dragons, but behind it is a dragon clutching a letter opener, part of my dragon desk set.

I didn’t know until just now that there’s a dragon pen sitting inside that dragon cup. See his golden snout sticking out? (Unusual pens are another thing I love to collect. I’ll show you them another day.)

Doesn’t everyone need a dragon stapler?

Don’t we all have something we collect that makes us almost giddy whenever we find another object to add? What do you enjoy collecting? If you send me one picture of whatever it is that you collect, I’d love to post it!

I collect anything cats. Son says I am cat crazy. My son used to collect dragons. And he only wanted ones that looked real. They used to be hard to find. Now that he doesn’t collect them anymore you find them everywhere. We have another that collects wolves. You have some beautiful pieces.

    I collect three things.

    1. Pens, doesn’t matter how odd or weird. I just love pens.

    2. Bags. I buy random bags. I have hundreds. I even buy them at the dollar store.

    3. My most intense obsession is skulls, I have all kinds of skulls. I also have bags with skulls on them and pens with skulls on them.

    DD. I emai

Well my obsession is books. I cannot stop myself buying them, seriously. I have a permanent vampire book thing and I keep buying them, lucky DD that you write good ones. I go into the bookstore everyday and have a walk around the store before heading for work 🙂

Other thing that I collect is unusual jewelry (silver especially). I am currently on the hunt for an unusual Jasper ring, don’t ask me why Jasper, it is what it is 🙂

    Ooh, ooh and dragonflies!

I collect candles, I have every shape size and variation LOL The problem is I barely burn them cause I like to look at them LOL I use tarts to “smell” up my house! I also collect these cute little cherubs called Dreamcicles, and then my other thing is shoes I cannot have enough, ever I have shoes that I have barely worn just bought for a particular mood or outfit onlt to sit there. My sister tells me to sell them or give them away but I cannot:) LOL

You and my husband would get on very well – he is obsessed with dragons too. In fact he added another one today to his collection of over 200 types of dragons.

I don’t have any photos of them online, but this one showing off my daughters hair colour shows a fraction of them on the shelf above her:

Love your dragons. Especially the pen holder. Very cool!

I’ve collected a couple dragons and I also have some halloween postcards (mostly featuring mirrors). Beach glass is another thing I love to collect. Just wish I got to the beach more often. 🙂

Sue! Thanks! My daughter’s mother-in-law collects everything cat-related too. She wears cat sweaters and jewelry too. I only have one silver and amethyst dragon ring. Should take a pic, I guess.

Rasha! I love jewelry too. Not so unusual pieces, because I don’t look good wearing a lot of things. I love natural stones, so totally get the jasper! And you’d love my dragonfly business card case.

Julie! You know I need to see a pic of the Dreamcicles!

Ilona! Wow! Your daughter and mine would get along famously. Mine likes to dye her hair barbie-doll red (hers is a natural copper, so I don’t get why), and sometimes she likes to go blueberry or magenta. LOVE, love, love the dragons!

Nope. I don’t collect pictures either. I take a ton, but rarely do much with them after that. They sit on my computer. LOL

I don’t even have any pictures up on my walls right now.

    I might change that…someday….

Aimee! Your collection makes a writer sigh.

Anna! I loved the pictures on your site. You have almost as many shelves crammed with books as I do. And if you look the other way, that dragon is gone, baby!

Sasha! That’s so wrong! You take lovely pics, you need to put them up where you can see them.

Thanks Delilah, You’re so sweet. Still waiting to here on the dragon story (a dragon shifter). Working title is Dragon Witch but you know how that goes, titles can always change after the contract is signed. Fingers crossed, I’ll keep you posted. My latest release came out in Jan. it was a demon and leopard shifter. Damned and Desired by Ellora’s Cave http://www.jasminejade.com/pm-8075-327-damned-and-desired.aspx 😀
