A Question…
Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

I’m out the door this morning—early. O-dark-thirty early. And since I’m yawning over the keyboard, I’ll keep this short.

What is one vacation destination that many people think is fabulous, but which you personally have no desire to ever visit (or revisit)?

Remember, there are two contests prizes you can work on winning today. See yesterday’s post for details. I’ll check in later today to read your answers and start a list of vacation destinations I never want to visit! 🙂

Everyone seems to think France is a msut see European country. Not me – it’s Scotland for me. And I get to realize my dream in 2 months.

Well, the Los Angeles/Hollywood area was an experience that I don’t regret having, but forGET going back! Nuh uh. Been there, done that, burned the tee shirt after I got home.

I would love to be able to go to Scotland and see if I can find family.

The Cayman Islands. It is beautiful, but I went with my sister and the people there did everything they could to take advantage of two women traveling together. It made the whole vacation a nightmare.

Disney World, I never had the desire to go there. I’m someone that doesn’t like to be around crowded places. Crowded places is something that I try to avoid if possible.

Las Vegas. I’m not a gambler and I don’t like to be around cigarette smoke. I would like to go see some of the shows (maybe) but there so expensive.

I never saw the facination with France at all, not a country I would really like to go to. Any place with a great deal of people would be something I would not like. I have serious anxiety issues with large crowds so I tend to avoid these situations as much as possible.

Paris. If you could move the museums, the food, the parks, and the history elsewhere (like Versailles or even further away), that would be nice.

But Paris has become just another big modern ugly city.

I miss the pastries, though. 😛

So much hatin’ on France! I LOVED it. I lived 15 minutes from the French border—4 hours from Paris. I went as often as I could. And as to French rudeness? I must be oblivious, but I never experienced it.

Now, one place I would never want to go back to… Saudi Arabia. Sorry, Saudis. I got very, very tired of being stopped by the religious police every time I went into the city. I can’t buy CDs? My own DVDs? Have to sit in a curtained off area of the restaurant? Pffft. Not for me.

Any Disney theme park (or any theme park for that matter) I hate the idea of queuing for hours for a few minutes on a ride that will probably make me ill anyway 😀
