A Question…
Thursday, June 9th, 2011

Yawn. Last night, I stayed up way too late playing with my new iPad. However, it’s impossible to resist. I bought the white one and put a pretty pink cover on it. It’s sitting on the nightstand, and when I reach to turn off the light at night, I can’t help picking it up and flipping over that cover. Do you know how many free games there are to download? I haven’t even scratched the surface. But I did buy Pages—so, at least I have a tool on the thing that I can use to write. It’s there, buried in all those games.

The past two days have been a bust so far as writing. Monday, I had to work all day on reading through the copyedits for Girls Who Bite. I love how it looks! But no new pages Monday. Yesterday, I had a doctor’s appointment in Little Rock, which stretched into a trip to the mall because the red-headed hellion needed to see the optometrist. (I have a new purse!) But when we arrived home, it was hot as hell, so I spent the rest of the day in the pool, then went back out last night with the Tiki torches lit to swim again. Sounds like a rough life, doesn’t it?

So, in the interest of getting to work quickly, I’ll simply pose a question, then run and hide out at my desk while you do all the work!

Whenever you are having a bad day, what is the best thing
you can do to help cheer yourself up?

Whenever I’m having a bad day, I do retail therapy. It always seems to lift my spirits, then I go home and enjoy a nice cup of tea and some choccie biccies.

I love your books Delilah, I get a lot of fun out of them.

    Thank you for this opportunity.

Make muffins! And they’re in the oven right now!

Yeah, it’s that kinda day. Writing a sad scene and just wanna give Master Damian a muffin–only I’ll probably wind up eating them all myself. ‘Sides, he only has eyes for his Savannah muffin–but won’t have anything to do with her now that he …. )

Back to work (until the muffins come out)!

Go someplace quiet with a book or my kindle. sounds lame, but the stories take me out of my everyday life and that is a getaway all on its own!

I wrestle with the 80 pound dog (my 35 pound, 14 year old dog wants nothing to do with him). He loves to wrestle and goes all puppy (he’s 4), jumps around, and acts like he’s on the good stuff. He just makes me laugh with some of his antics.

okay, so for a bad day i make a cup of my favorite tea (hot in winter or sweet tea in summer) make a hot bath with lots of scented oils (my favorite is rose, sandelwood and myrh), light the candles, bar the door (it’s the only bathroom) grab a hot romance book and put on some music. i then spend the next 2 hours in there away from everything and everybody until i feel better. then when i am done i make brownies and put ice cream on top with caramel sauce.

sounds like a great pick me up huh!

Today is my Birthday and I am having a bad day. I feel like I want to sleep through it but to cheer me up I am going to pick up some of my favourite flowers, daisies, buy a birthday cake cook myself a fabulous steak dinner and watch So you think you can Dance tonight on TV and maybe have a cocktail or two. To end my night I am hoping for a screaming orgasm.

Wow! I went away for a swim in the pool and come back to a slew of responses! Love them all, BTW. But will I sound terribly self-serving if I say that I ADORE the fact so many of you choose to read a book? 😀

When I am having a bad day, I like to take a walk either by myself or with one of my dogs. After the walk, I then like to find a quiet place to read.

Whenever you are having a bad day, what is the best thing
you can do to help cheer yourself up?

Hmm… Usually, I burrow into the covers, letting hubby or my own redheaded hellion take over with the rug rats. Sometimes, I take my Nook with me. I have lots there I can reread if I haven’t anything new. A nap while burrowed under said covers helps, too.

Say to hell with it all and put up your feet
But first go find something sweet to eat

Bury your blackberry, unplug the phone
This time to spend, is all your own

And remember in life, there is a good rule to follow
“Don’t sweat the little things”, life can be too hard to swallow

Depends on what kind of mood I am in. Sometimes I read, sometimes play on the internet, sometimes just veg out on old re-runs, or take a nap.

Make a big pot of Tea and settle in with a stack of books or my laptop (e-books).

If it’s one of those I-need-a-good-cry-days, then I head for my room and cuddle up with one of the stuffed critters I’ve kept all these years. Oh, can’t forget the box of tissues, too.

Dependent on ‘how’ bad the mood is, I vary between sitting in a quiet room, and do absolutely nothing, (almost like a meditation), or grab a book/iPad book and read. If the mood persists, I go to a movie. Always a comedy.

My bad day starts and i head for the shower – washing away all the things that came before that moment.

Hot stingy needles of water on my back and i envision all the ‘bad’ stuff going down the drain …

I turn on my favorite Celtic music, and write. Sometimes a bad day is fueled by something I am not happy doing, so I do what I love. Read or write.

Chocolate. Finding something to make me laugh my ass off. Being quiet (if my prior suggestion isn’t possible). And, as a last resort, I get in the car and drive. And then, chocolate.

I tend to hide out play games on the computer offline or online either one. Since I bought the new laptop in Feb it has so many games built in I get lost. Funny I find the games allow my mind to wander. My question is when you finish a book do you feel lost? I look around and go now what can I read? I am always ready for another one right away. Sometimes if one isn’t grabbing my attention strong enough I read 2 or 3 and the one that really holds my attention that won’t let me go is the one that I finish and go ho hum back to that other book lol. 😀

I don’t have too many bad days but when the occasional should arise, I turn my negative situation into a positive one. After evaluating the source of my problem, I remind myself of all the great things in my life. I may not have much 2 some people but 2 me, I am rich with love, health, a job, a place to rest my head at night, etc. I never try & take advantage of the simple blessing we are given daily and leave the hard stuff up to the man upstairs. Some days may be harder than others but my motto is: “Tough Times Never Last… Tough People Do”. *Smiles*

I don’t have many bad days. I’m one of those oblivious people who glide through life with a vague smile on their face. I can get irked or annoyed or tired, but I am a pretty optimistic person, and I find humor in EVERYTHING.
