One-Day-Only Contest!
Friday, June 10th, 2011

I have tons of promo stuff that I brought back from Lori Foster’s. Today, I’m going to give away some of it! What do you have to do? POST A COMMENT—here or on facebook!

This is what the first bundle includes:

Autgraphed books:
Dragonbound by Jade Lee
Carpe Bead’em by Tonya Kappes
Escape by Kate Douglas, Willa Okati and Marteeka Karland (signed by Marteeka only)

Autographed drink koozie from Kristin Daniels

Assorted stuff (much of it autographed as well)…bookmarks, trading cards, excerpt booklets from:
Emma Wildes, Jade Lee, Marie Force, Leah Braemel, Jane Rylon, Leanna Renee Hieber, Madelyn Ford, Lila DiPasqua, Virna DePaul, Donna Grant, Zenobia Renquist, Samantha Kane, Krista Daniels, and Cheryl Brooks.

No doubt, I’ll throw some of my stuff in as well! So, what can you comment about? How about this?

By perseverance the snail reached the ark. ~Charles Haddon Purgeon

Which reminds me of my favorite joke. Okay, so it’s the only joke I ever remember, which is why it’s a joke my family teases me about. (I get gifts of snail figurines)…

What does the snail say as it rides the turtle’s back? Whee!

    Good Morning,
I loved the snail joke! it reminded me of one that my niece came up with when she was in 2nd grade, she was making a poster and instead of saying don’t count your eggs until they hatch, she said don’t count your chicken until you find them! we still have it framed and hanging on the wall and she and grandma have a running joke about anything with a chicken on it.
thank you for the laugh and the giveaway and i hope you have a great weekend.

That’s a great joke. But in that quote about the snail reaching the ark, what happened to the other snail? I thought they went “two by two?” Just askin’.

So glad you enjoyed yourself at Lori’s event.

Even though snails are hermaphrodites (they have both sets of sex organs), there still have to be two snails to make baby snails (the two will inseminate each other).

Why do I know the sexual reproduction of snails? I blame Dr. Dolittle (he traveled by sea snail at one point).

Cute joke! I wish I could be more like that hard-working snail. Also reminding myself that a goal without a plan is just a wish. Time to get my butt in gear to get some of my plans back on track. Glad you had a good time at Lori’s get-together!

What timing for this one. There’s a news article on the web about a woman who lost 300 pounds without the fancy diets or surgery. She did do the sensible diet and stuck to sensible exercise. It’s taken her years to do it, but the point is the same. You don’t have to be fast. You just have to get started and keep going.

A woman walks into her veterinarian office with her pet duck. She says “doctor somethings wrong with my duck, please do something!” After a quick exam the doctor says “I sorry ma’am but your duck is dead”. The woman is shocked and says ” that can’t be true, I just can’t believe it, I won’t believe it”! The doctor sighs and says ” Alright, I’ll show you”. He opens a door to the back of the exam room and a tabby cat strolls into the room and jumps up onto the exam table where the duck is. The cat sniffs at the duck and bats at it with it’s paw. The cat gives one last sniff before it jumps off the table and leaves. The vet says “You see, your duck is dead”. The woman, still distraught still doesn’t believe what’s happened. The doctor shakes his head and once again opens a door and a beautiful golden lab bounds into the office, waits for a signal from the doctor and, standing on it’s hind legs, examines the duck. sniffing it and nudging at it with it’s paw. The Labrador looks at the Vet, gets back down and leaves the exam room. The doctor looks at the woman and says “now do you believe me?” The woman, crying softly, comes to realize the doctor is right. She asks ” alright doctor how much do I owe you?” The doctor gets her bill and rights down the total. “”Two hundred dollars”?! the woman exclaims. “For telling me my duck is dead?!” the doctor looks at her and says “No ma’am, for the original exam it would have just been $50, but you had to have a CAT scan and LAB work. :-P

I am terrible at telling jokes. I always crack up. But, I love your quote. Very deep. I always tell my kids, you can’t ask for help if you aren’t actually trying to do it already. I know, deep. Thanks for the one day contest. Everything sounds great. I have a hankering for that Jade Lee book or any of your books.

We were suppose to post a joke? OOPS Guess I didn’t read far enough, I saw, “giveaway” and I was here! LOL Now this isn’t a real joke, but it is something funny my 6 year old grandson said. Last week he hit his first home run in t-ball. I asked him how many batters he hit in with his home run. He gave me a funny look like he didn’t know what I was talking about so instead I said, “How many guys were on base when you hit your home run?” His reply, “All of them!” Outta the mouths of Babes!
