A Question…
Monday, June 20th, 2011

Tomorrow, I’ll blog one last time before I head out on the road. So ya know today I have a ton of things to do…get my nails done, get the car’s oil changed, laundry, pack…blah, blah, blah. Today’s post will be short. Just something to get you thinking because you know you need someone to prod you into doing that.

If you had to change your first name , what would you choose as your new name?

If I had to change my name I guess it would be to Olivia. I’ve always loved that name. Although Stephanie isn’t bad either…

When I was a little girl, I desperately wanted to be named Katrina or Jennifer (can you stand it?) Now I think I would want something imposing and dignified like Victoria or Katherine (with a “K” of course!)

    Delilah,
If I were to have a choice……Bella (after the flowering plant) or Cattibrie (a character in a book series who was strong but vulnerable). Thank you for reminding me to fantasize and lighten up. 😉

I always wanted to name one of my daughters (I have 4) Bree Suzane. My dh nixed it. If I HAD to change my name, it would probably be Bree Suzane. My first name was my paternal grandmother’s maiden name, carried over from Scotland. So, would I, if I COULD change it? No.

My oldest daughter is named for a one episode Star Trek character. Zarahbeth. Spock’s first love. 😉

My next daughter is named from the bible, the Book of Ruth. Her full name is Naomi Ruth. It fits her so well!

Next is my thunder eyed baby. Haley Fawn. Her middle name is from the delivery nurse when I had Naomi. She was a very special, fantastic person. Helped me tremendously. Btw, I say thunder eyed, as Haley’s eyes are that color blue/gray that look like thunder head just before the storm breaks.

Lastly, but not least, is my gem baby. Amber CrystalRose. Yes, the middle name is as typed.

Each has a unique name, as do I. Hopefully, they will never want to change their names. But if they do, I will certainly support them.

Delilah, if YOU had to change your name, what would it be?

I love my name. But, I get very upset when people want to give me a nickname of my name! Why is that?! If I have told you my name is Kathleen, why then would you call me Kathy, so I have to correct you?! To me, that’s another “person”! So, if I could choose another name it would be one that “couldn’t” be turned into a nickname! I like GLORIA!

I guess if I were to change my name (which I wouldn’t as I like my name 😳 ) it would have to be a pretty female name starting with ‘A’ so that I fit in with the rest of the family (who are all ‘A’ names 😀 🙄

I would go with my middle name, Jo. I’ve always liked it and maybe it reminds me a little of Louisa May Alcott and Little Women. 🙂

I do like my name but when I was younger I liked Bella. I still like it to this day.
I did have fun naming my kids. My first daughter Elizabeth Irene got her name from a book I was reading and her grandmother. Elizabeth was from the book and Irene from her grandmother. Melanie Rose is named after her aunt who passed on. Alexsandria Maree is also named after two girls in a book I was reading.
If you changed your name what would you change it to?
    Thanks for the contest.

If I had to change my first name I think I would pick:

Dyani. I have always loved that name. It is a Native American name meaning deer.

I am a lover of names and love many more…but yes here is one that I would pick (using it in a book, since I can’t use it myself).

    Have a safe trip.

My mother wanted to name me Stephanie Erin but ended up letting my older sister pick my name. I have really never wanted any other name. Now my middle name, that could use work. It’s Kay. No, not okay. Just Kay. I end up playing Who’s One First everytime I tell people my name. Although I am glad my mother didn’t choose Katherine of Kelly like she had considered doing.
