A Question…and last day of the contests!
Monday, June 27th, 2011

Just a quick note. I’m heading this morning for home. Last leg of the trip. Yesterday, we spent the night at one of the most haunted places in America—and I do have a couple of stories to tell—but that will wait until I’m home.

In the meantime, answer a question.

Do you believe in ghosts? Have you ever had a spooky, unexplainable experience?

i definitely believe in ghosts. i live in a haunted house. i have friends and neighbors with ghosts in there houses. its funny that you would bring this topic up because a couple nights ago my familly and i was in the living room when a full solid ghost walked by and went up stairs. we thought someone broke in until we got up to look and seen him disappear on the stairs (he actually disappeared with us watching). we painted a room and within a few hours of doing so, i little kid (i would guess about five) played in the paint and put hand prints all over the windows. theres no little kids here. the youngest is 16. ive had a knife thrown at me. we’ve had glass pans just shatter, things move on there own. you can hear stomping in the attic, nobody goes up there, the attic was never finished being built. sometimes the ghosts will knock on the wall, which is creepy especially if its dark and your trying to sleep. they open and close doors. if the ghosts are mad, when you walk upstairs down the hallway, they’ll fling a door open and try to hit you. a few times we heard the door slam, stomping through out the house and thought someone broke in and no one was there. my bed sometimes shakes. they turn things on and off, alarm clock, lamps, tvs, etc. when i was about 12, i seen a little boy in my room. now, i have two neighbors (both have moved out) there houses are worse than mine. the two woman that lived in these houses liked to play with black magic(the bad stuff). in both houses, the ghosts would hurt the kids and terrorize them. they’d hit, bite, pinch and scare them. in one of the houses, they have a 3 yr old little boy and hes terrified of his room. his dad just got done remodeling it and built a closet, and inside theres scratches and sayings (as in: get out, leave, im gonna get you) creepy, huh? the grandmother was also forcefully thrown out of this kids room and the door slamed and locked after her. the other house, when you walk in the basement, you can sometimes see a woman hanging and the dryer will be tumbling on its own (and when i same on its own, i mean its not plugged in) the ghosts will chase you up the stairs. sometimes, you can see people in this houses windows. no one lives there. when the people moved out of this house, there cousins moved in, they had boarded up the front bedroom window and brought there dog in there. (mind you, the dog didnt know there was a window in this room) the dog had been escaping this house and coming over to ours, and at the time we didnt know where she came from. one day, in the middle of winter, she was laying in the snow in our front lawn and there was blood everywhere. we called the police because we thought someone had shot her. when we went outside, turns out she gutted herself. the cops say that she was either thrown out the window (nobody was home) or she jumped out the window trying to escape something. poor thing had to be put down. and a few months ago, the cousins moved out of the house and everything was shut off, the water, electricity. lights will turn on and off, and about a month ago, a bunch of cops showed up at the house, late at night. we went out to see what was going on, and a cop told us someone was hurt inside, that they just got a phone call from there. we looked at him and told him that nobody lived there and everything was shut off. they looked around and several of the cops were creeped out. spooky, huh?

i am kinda on the fence about this. i believe that there are things i don’t know and that are beyond me but i’m not sure they are the spirits of departed humans.

I am not really sure if I believe in ghosts or not. My nephew would often see things when he was young, things that no one else could see. It would freak him out and he would not sleep in this bedroom because he said there was a little girl in there.

We had a ghost in the house that knocked the TV off its table screen first in slow motion so that the screen didn’t break. My husband watched it fall.

I myself have never had any experiences, but I have heard enough stories from others, stories that are immpossible to make up, to make me a believer.

I believe in ghosts. Back in Germany my parents had a pub with a resident ghost who would play music on the jukebox when it wasn’t plugged in and pay only 8 pfennigs for a beer it would pour itself (that’s about a tenth of the proper price and it even happened if the tap wasn’t connected to the barrel!).

If seeing my dead grandfather sitting on a chair, walking down the hallway and standing by our dog who was looking up at him counts I do.

I believe in ghost, even though I never really experience anything dealing with ghosts. A friend of mine used to tell me that the house my husband and I lived in before moving was haunted. She told me she always saw and elderly couple looking out of one of the windows on the second floor. I never notice anything different about that room though. Now every once in a while I would hear some faint music being played but couldn’t figure out where it was coming from and I was the only one who would ever hear it. I also believe in spirits, I remember a few times when I was a child and in my room by myself and feeling down it always felt like someone was laying a hand on my shoulder and giving it a squeeze but no one was there.

Can’t wait to hear about your couple of stories, Delilah. Where did you stay that was one of the most haunted places in America?

Do you believe in ghosts? Have you ever had a spooky, unexplainable experience?

YES, to both! I have seen things, heard things, that have no other rational explanation. My mom took a picture of a setting sun many many years ago. When the pic was developed, there was a face, almost in a smoke, coming from around the barn to our right. There was NO other light around us. We were on a back country road. It was awesome!

Where I live now, my kids tell me we have at least 3. Possibly 4. One is a little girl that is in my 12 y/o’s bedroom. They talk to each other and play. This is the same room that when my now 6 y/o was 3, she told me there was a little girl in there with her. I fluffed it off. My eldest tells me there are 2 in her room. One stays by the bathroom and gets agitated a lot. But then there is a calming one that will sit on her bed and rub her leg to keep her quiet.

I also fully believe my mom is here with us, just watching over us all. My dad, too.

Yes, I definitely believe in ghosts. We have that kind of family that just attracts those types of things, I guess.

Also, forerunners and intuition. But that is another story. 😛

I stayed at the Crescent Hotel a few years ago. My husband and I took the guided tour and didn’t get spooked as much as we wanted to (well, as much as I wanted to, my husband didn’t want to experience anything). I did smell ammonia on one floor that was said to be part of the hospital. After having our photographs developed there was one shot showing a clear, solid looking, small dog looking out from one of the upper floors. I showed it to my husband and said, “Remember seeing a dog?” He said no. I yelled, “We got a picture of a ghost dog!” I was excited. We toured the church across the street and was hoping to get some interesting photographs, but only got beautul, clear photographs of the church.

Oh yes I totally believe in ghosts! I swear one lives in my room and I think it is a little kid ghost. I have stuffed animals and stuff in my room, and you can literally turn your back for a few seconds, turn back and have the stuffed animals move to a new place!! This ghost isnt a mean ghost, just a mischievious one.

I believe in ghosts and spirits. I’ve seen the silhouette of a tall man on the stairs inside the house, several times. I usually do a double take and by the time I take a second look he is gone. I’ve also experience having something brush up against me when I’m alone in the house. It’s a very weird feeling.

Shadow – Michigan, that might take some planning for me. That’s a drive for me now since I live in Tennessee now instead of Ohio.

shadow, I haven’t really check into it yet about Tennessee, but I’m sure there are some place. Since I grew up in Northeastern Ohio, I know more about Ohio then TN. I do know a friend that I work with told me about the plantation home that she grew up in was haunted by her great-grandfather and when the house was sold the new owners torn down that half of the home that was haunted. She told me that after they did that the kitchen caught on fire. I told her that her great-grandfather wasn’t happy with having his home destroyed. I know the local library here has a couple books that talk about some haunting’s in TN but I haven’t taken the time to check them out yet.
