Guest Blogger: Cynthia D’Alba (Contest)
Wednesday, December 28th, 2011

Hi y’all. I’m Cynthia D’Alba. Delilah has kindly offered up her blog to let me ramble for the next couple of minutes. I want to talk about the future.

It’s almost the end of 2011 and beginning of a fresh new year with all its potential and possibilities. 2012 will be an interesting year for me personally.

• I have my first book (Texas Two Step) coming out on February 28, 2012. (YAY!)
• I’m going on my first blog whore tour (which I BEG you to follow and comment. I’ll try to be interesting every day! And I’ll give away lots of stuff as bribes, er prizes.) Click HERE for dates and locations. A complete list of prizes will be posted in January.
• It’s an election year. My hubby and I are political junkies so this year will be like catnip to a kitty!

Notice I’m not asking for New Year resolutions. The ONLY New Year’s resolution I ever kept is not to make any.  🙂 So I’m not looking for yours. But I’d love to know… What are you looking forward to in 2012?

Mega-thanks to Delilah for having me here today. I know she has a loyal following of fans and to them I say…you have great taste in reading material!

I’ve included a small except from my upcoming debut from Samhain Publishing, Texas Two Step. I chose it especially for DD’s readers.

He wanted her. Even if he hadn’t told her, she’d known. Even if he only wanted her for tonight, then tonight it would be. For the first time in years, she was alive and sexy and desirable.

Jerking her mouth from his, she kissed his neck, using her lips, teeth and tongue to caress his salty skin.

“Wrap your legs around me,” he said in a strained voice.

She locked her ankles around his waist and thrust her aching center against the bulge behind his zipper. They were as physically close as two clothed people could be. His large hands scorched her bottom as he dug his fingers into her flesh, cupping her through her panties, holding her in place, rocking her against him. She groaned at the torture of being close but not close enough. He was driving her insane with desire.

He locked his mouth to hers, carried her across the room and kicked open a door. The door banged against the wall. He laid her on his turned-down bed, the satiny sheet cool to her heated flesh.

“Don’t move,” he growled. “I want to enjoy the view.”

Instead, she rolled to her side and rested her head in her hand. “I don’t think so. I think it’s time I had a turn looking.”

His lips curved into a slow, sexy smile.

“As you demand.” He toed off black cowboy boots and kicked them toward a closet door. He unfastened his slacks and pulled the zipper slowly down.

Interested? Want to read a copy of Texas Two Step? I’m giving away one advance reader copy (digital format only) to one commenter who will read the book and post an online review before February 28, 2012. Here’s how to win… (aka Rules and Regs)

Love the cover and the title. And the two-step. My husband and I learned it at the Yellow Rose in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1980. Of course, I was helped along by some rum and Coke, but it was a fun, fun time. Thanks for bringing it back!

The book sounds awesome! I would love to read it. Cowboys really do it for me. I’m not sure I would make a good reviewer, but I love to read, and I read a lot. I would also give an honest one. Thanks! I live in Alabama, so I must say…Roll Tide!

Your book is almost here. YAY! (I knew her when, folks!) LOL.
I look forward to each and every morning, Ms. D’Alba!
Other things I look forward to:
    > I can’t wait to get my third DIL in March.
    > Marilyn Pappano’s new series, “Tuesday Night Margarita Club” from Grand Central. (I heard about it at the retreat when she was talking in her sleep. LOL)
    > Linda Trout’s book, coming out this year.
    > Your book! 😛

Hi Liz! Isn’t amazing how well we dance and tell jokes with a little help from rum and coke? LOL SOOOO much better than when we’re sober.

Hi Shelly! You were doing SOOO good with convincing me you should get my ARC until your closing. Sigh I have to close with…WOOOOOOOO-PIG-SOOIE! (hee hee) Seriously one of my best writing buds is an LSU fan and nothing I’ve done can move her from her wicked ways.

Susan! I so miss seeing you. Hadn’t heard about Marilyn or Linda’s books. So exciting! Thanks for dropping by

Congratulations on your release. You’ve worked long and hard and it will be here before you know it.

This book sounds really good. I would love to read it. I’m not real good a doing reviews, but I would leave a honest one. I really haven’t decided on New Year resolutions yet. One I am planning on is getting better at leaving reviews for stories that I do get read. Also I am planning on making more time to see my mom this year.

I would love to read and review your book. I would be very honest.
I just joined Goodreads so that would be where I would post it.
I’m looking forward to finally getting to go on a vacation with my husband on the Harley.

Sorry for the delay in responding! I was out to lunch with a couple of authors…Leigh Duncan and Lara Santiago…both excellent writers if you’re looking for new names. They write at opposite ends of the sexual heat spectrum. Leigh writes for American Romance (HQ) and Lara write very hot and spicy for Siren.

    Now to your comments….

Julie – vacation on a Harley? I hope you have your own! You’ll love Goodreads. Great place. Lots of good groups you can join. I hope you do get to read Texas Two Step. And if you do, be sure to drop me a line.

Becky – good year’s goal to visit with your mom more. Sounds like the kind of resolution MY mom would make FOR ME! 🙂 I hope you get a chance to read Texas Two Step. And as I told Julie, if you do, let me know what you thought.

Linda – reading it in bed would certainly give you nice dreams! 🙂

Vicki – My Bud!!! Love seeing you here. You know all about hard work, my friend. 😀

Hi Angie – Good luck with the world peace thing. Wouldn’t we all like that. But honestly believe that if women were in charge there wouldn’t be as much war. Seriously. And good luck with those ear infections. I know I suffered from them when I was young. Hope you read TTS and let me know what you think.

Thanks Regina! I ADORE my cover. I found that I can have it enlarged at Sams Club into poster size and yes, I’m gonna do it! 🙂

I’m looking forward to a little less drama and sorrow in 2012. I’d love to review your book for my fledgling blog, my Goodreads shelf or maybe the review site that I am affiliated with (although that may depend on whether you have already submitted it and it has not been assigned to someone else). Thanks for sharing…
