If I won that much money:
    1. Pay off all outstanding debts of mine, son & daughter’s.
    2. Purchase HE appliances for my home (all appliances are at lease 22 yrs old).
    3. Invest in our futures. Put money away for retirement, granddaugher’s education, etc. Find charitable organizations that I always wanted to help but was unable to do so.

I’d pay off boring old debts from college, mortgage and credit card. Then I’d buy a working fridge and . . .
okay, I’d get something fun, but it would probably be a shopping spree at a grocery store. 🙄

    With $2 (£1.29) million I’d
    1. Divide by number of family members and give them their share
    2. Pay off all loans and large bills (maybe even pay in advance for utilities for a year or two)
    3. Buy everything on my Amazon wish list (plus a few extra dragons for husband)

Wonder if I’d have anything left after that? 😀

First thing, I’d cover the taxes on the two million. I’d rather make my plans based on what’s left than to have to try to explain oops to the nice tax people.

I do think a car (or vehicle of some kind) is high on the list. I’ve been borrowing for the last few years. It’s better than walking, but it’s had its challenges.

First thing: I’m going to make sure that check clears the bank…

Have to laugh at Virginia’s comment about making sure the check clears! LOL

    I’m with most everyone.

    1) Pay off my debts. Pay off all family’s debts.
    2) Buy all the family new cars (because I love them.)
    3) Pay for all the family to go on a cruise together.
    4) Buy a beachside villa in Spain, Portugal or France.
    5) Go on a round-the-world trip, by train and boat.
    6) Build an office detached from the house so I can write in peace!

    1. Set up a corporation or LLC so I wouldn’t personally pay the taxes.
    2. Pay off all my bills.
    3. Give some to my parents (although probably over years in order to minimize taxes).
    4. Put most of the rest in the hands of my friend the fund manager so that I won’t have to work again, just live off the interest.

I feel so greedy, but my school debts are mostly paid off now so I think I would splurge most of my winnings away! 🙂

1 – Move out of my tiny apt and buy a loft condo downtown
2- Travel! I’d love to finally see Australia and New Zealand.
3 – Finish paying off that Meng painting I’ve had sitting on layaway for the past 4 months. (It would look GREAT in my new loft LOL)

If I had 2 mil the top three things I would do is:

    1) Give some to my church to bring them out of the hole and to make all the renovations that needed to be done (church is well over a 100 years old).

    2) Pay off all our debts (my dad and mine) so that I can get him in to a more comfortable situation where he doesn’t need about things getting done as I get older.

    3) Help the rest of my family members out so that they would also be more comfortable especially in today’s economy.

    Congrats Mary!

In addition to paying things off and new housing, I think I would take a vacation and donate to my favorite museum.

Also the debate over and IPad or kindle would finally be resolved. I can get both!!

    Thanks for the contest Delilah!

    Well…
First, I would pay off all my bills and familys bills.
Next…there are a lot of charities out there that I would donate to. I have had family and friends die of cancer, heart disease, MS, diabetes. I have also had family and friends survive and keep going, despite those disease’s. They managed that due to contributions for each of those causes.

First off I’d pay off all of our debts. Second, I’d help my family with their debts and take everyone to the beach for a family vacation (all of my family – parents, brother and his family, sister and her family, etc.). And finally, I would donate to help find a cure for Crohns disease (something I’ve suffered with for many years).

The first thing I would buy would be a house for my son and I. (We are currently looking.) The second would be a small place for my daughter and granddaughter to live (one they could afford to maintain). The next thing would be a nice driving vacation for all of us through the North Western USA.
