Remember that the Tater Red’s Grab Bag & Elvis Contest continues!
Post a comment here for another chance to win!

I’m preparing for another weekend away—the last in a long, long while. While I’m gone, I have friends coming to entertain you. Please be sure to stop by and say hello—and yes, those comments count in the grab bag giveaway too!

Here’s a question for you now. Have fun!

If you could take any job for just one month (assuming you have the skills and knowledge), what job would you like to have?

I would love to be the Chairman/CEO of the company I work for. My boss is the current chairman/CEO and sometimes (okay, most times) I wonder what he’s thinking when he makes some bonehead move. It would be fun to see if I could do better.

That’s actually a hard question to answer! I do what I love most (edit and proof) for a living…but I think I’d have to say that I would want to be a florist. I love fresh flowers and working with them, so I think I’d like that. Just not in a huge holiday month (Mother’s Day, etc).

Oooo, there’s a program over here in the UK called Time Team where a group of archaeologists have three days to investigate varius historic sites. I’d LOVE to do that for a month. Or maybe God. That would be fun. 😀

Grace! I can see that. If I could actually get a horse to go where I wanted it too, I might join you for a ride. Unfortunately, I usually end up back at the barn.

Sillie Vamp! It’s whatever you want it to be. Serving girl? Police officer? On one side you want to perform, on the other you want to be in charge. Hmmm…

    Christiana! Nice choices!

    Crystal! Why not his dresser?

I am an RN. Worked mostly in the ER, but did work in other areas. I would have loved to have been a Life Flight Nurse. The ones who are on the helicopters who fly critical patients to facilities, i.e. from auto accidents. They make critical decisions at a moments notice. I really wish I had done that. 😀

Well if I could do any job and had the skills to do it then I would have to say a great writer. I love to be able to let my vivid imagination just go wild in any idea I could come up with and make it into a great book. Which making money to help all of my family so they didn’t have to work so hard. Writing would let me be or do anything I want to be or do. I could be a firefighter, a cowgirl, a farmer, a helicopter pilot, a spy, a detective, a medical examiner, a pirate, maybe even a wizard. The list could be anything and everything this way. Maybe even run a lesbian Bed and Breakfast or a lesbian retirement community where we can live out our days just enjoying life to the fullest.

Whoa–hats off to you, Marika–that’s one I’d never choose! (I entertained thoughts of that years ago, and now that I HAVE kids and have worked with groups of kids, there is no way I or any students would survive even a day, much less a month of such a thing!) If I had the skills, I’d love to be a professional dancer for a month! I dance, but came into it relatively late, and definitely am losing flexibility, strength, and all those things as I get older. *sigh*

Barring that, how about acquisitions editor for Brava or NAL or Penguin? Reading for a living, right? 🙂

Hmmm…first try didn’t go through. I’ll try this again.

I’d like to spend a month as a photographer doing photo shoots for romance novel covers with Jimmy Thomas as the male subject. I’m old enough to be his mother so he’d be safe!

Christiana, pyrotechnics are lots of detailed work followed by deafening noise and cold (at least where I live). It was really a lot of fun, though (I was helping out a friend).

Lavonne, I was a movie extra before and let me tell you, it was pretty boring on a movie set. Perhaps it’d be more thrilling for more important people than extras.

I’d like to be a dog trainer or maybe work with marine mammals. I’m allergic to animals so this is off-limits to me but I think I’d survive a month.

Or a writer… I like to play around with stories and poetry. I have actually had a few published in the past but they are small pieces. Nothing major. I have note books all over with different things written in them.
