Lucky Seven

If you believe in luck and 7 is your lucky number, today is your day! It’s the 7th day of the 7th month, and I’m feeling lucky!

I just signed a contract for my 37th, 38th and 39th books with Harlequin. I have wonderful parents, a husband who supports my writing career, three wonderful children and two grandsons. I’ve been to Paris this year, Ireland last year and more travel in the near future. And don’t let me forget to mention that I have a terrific sister, the fabulous DELILAH DEVLIN, who shares my passion for writing. What more could a girl ask for?

I’m also lucky because I have a new series starting this month with Harlequin Intrigue.

It’s the COVERT COWBOYS INC series.  First book out the chute is TRIGGERED.

TRIGGERED

To protect their future, a Texas bodyguard must revisit his past

After taking justice into his own hands, Austin police officer Ben Harding faces an unknown future. But a new job referral carries the possibility of salvation. His mission seems simple: protect a woman and her young daughter—recent residents of the Flying K Ranch who have become the target of threats.

When Ben meets Kate Langsdon, he is immediately struck by her beauty…and by the memories of the tragedies that touched his own family. Resolved not to become emotionally invested, Ben protects the pair as new dangers—and old ranch secrets—emerge. As enemies draw closer, can Ben keep this family alive long enough to explore a future with Kate?

Since I’m so lucky, I want to give you a chance to be lucky. Leave a comment on a happy lucky thing in your life for a chance to win the following prize:

Girl! I LOVE that you write the genre of books I love best… Romantic Cowboy Suspense! When I began my WIPs, I thought that they would all be basically Contemporary Cowboy Romance but turns out, my Muse loves Romantic Cowboy Suspense like I do! You inspire us both. ;) Thanks for sharing what you are grateful for. I cannot think of many things better than having a sister like Delilah (and I am not just saying that because this is her blog!) who loves writing like you do. I would love some of your goodies but know that either way, I too am very, very blessed!

I also feel lucky to have my family. Small but sincere. However, I think I feel most lucky to have my husband. After 27 years we are still happy and have great fun together. He is gentle, understanding, hard-working, honest and a barrel of laughs. Through all the health issues, financial troubles and just sad times we are still holding hands and smiling today.

My luck is not really noticeable to others (I don’t win lotteries, survive terrible accidents or illnesses, etc), except to say that I am lucky to have a loving family, who care about me and each other.

I am so very lucky to have a healthy, happy and devoted family! I have a husband who has always been very caring, helpful and generous. He very often carries most of the weight in everyday activities. He even helps baby sit our first grandchild, taking him for walks, putting him down for naps and very much spoiling him big time!! So I can say that I am truly lucky in all things in life!!

I am lucky to have gotten to hospital when a bulls eye rash turned up on my back. I had been sick for 2 1/2 months and couldn’t even get my doctor to give me an appointment. I ended up in ER and spent two days while they did every heart test possible. Thank God for prayers – and they found no problems. But a culture did show I have lone star tick disease and lyme disease from the rash. I have had a time getting a follow up doctor. But I could not have enjoyed my vacation and grandkids – all 5 together otherwise and could have died if not treated.

I’m lucky to be married to my own hero, to have a mother who loves me and her son-in-law, and to be working someplace where I’m usually appreciated for what I do. The only thing I haven’t been lucky with, really, is the Powerball.

I don’t really believe in luck just happy circumstances. One of my Grandsons was born on my birthday and the other on my husband’s birthday. Soooo easy to remember the dates. At this age, i need all the help I can get.
