Members Only Swag

I’m going to my first book convention in October. #RCon13 (Romanticon) in Ohio put on by Ellora’s Cave. Complete with cavemen. Woo Hoo!!!!

And it’s not only my first convention, but it’s my first book signing too. Me…little ol’ Jennifer Kacey is going to be signing book flats for Together in Cyn, and maybe even Haleigh’s Ink if we can get it out that fast. I CAN’T WAIT!!!

So, I’ve had to narrow the list down on swag items I’d like to bring and be able to pass out to the readers, and authors, and fans. I just typed fans – HA! That’s a hoot!

Okay, so swag…I’ve got loads of ideas. Like seriously, sticky note upon sticky note of naughty items I’d like to have custom printed. Bottles of lube, Goodhead mints, nipple claps, pens, trading cards, just to name a few. Love the idea of my name on naughty items people will take home and talk about, or Facebook and talk about, or pinterest, or instagram, or tweet. Lots of options here.

I’ve heard some crazy good ideas but it seems they are either really expensive or everyone already offers it and I want to do something unique.

I’m looking for ideas from you the readers so I can narrow down my list some more, by like half.

Ooh…and since we’re talking about swag let’s make a contest out of it. I’ll pick one lucky poster to win a 2013 Ellora’s Cave Bad Girls of Romance Card Deck and a little something extra from me – ‘cause naughty makes the world go ‘round.

Seriously, it does. I read it on the internet somewhere. **GRINS**

Here’s a pic of the card deck with some of the yummy titles you’ll find from some of your favorite naughty authors like Sabrina York, Brynn Paulin and Laurann Dohner. Together in Cyn is the King of Clubs for obvious reasons. YUMMY!

jkECcarddeckpicJenniferKacey

So…if you go to a convention, what swag do you want to go home with, and more importantly what do you leave sitting on the table because you’ve seen it, grabbed it, tossed it in the round file?

Let me know and you just might win!

jkTogetherInCyn

Members Only, Book One

She knows it’s wrong. Cyn shouldn’t have feelings for fraternal twins Jared and Chris, her best friends. She shouldn’t want them to tie her up or strap her down, to take her one at a time—or together. The only way to control her taboo desires is to write them down and lock them away in her diary. Guys like Jared and Chris could never be interested in someone like her, or in the kind of sex she craves.

But Jared and Chris have read her diary, and sweet little Cyn is in for the shock of her life. The brothers not only own a members-only BDSM club, they want her. Need her. And now, with their unlimited funds and an entire establishment devoted to fulfilling her darkest pleasures, they’re going to claim Cyn for their own.

Inside Scoop: If you have a kink, this book probably has it too. If you like your ménage romances extra hot with a side of male-male romance, spanking, voyeurism and girl-on-girl action, come and get it.

When I go to conventions I like the free books and t-shirts. I don’t generally take the bookmarks. But, I do love the pens!

One of the best pieces of swag I got at a convention was a sleep mask (or could be used a a blindfold…hint, hint) with the author’s name on it. You use a bandanna with the cover or your name on it for a blindfold too.

Jenn, I cannot wait to meet you there!!! And thanks for featuring my cover in your photo! You rock!!

I’ve been to tons of cons and I find my pens FLY (of course they have sparklies on them) and readers like teaser books so they can try out my writing.

What I see left over the most? Bookmarks and postcards (unless they have irresistible art!)

I can’t wait to see what you come up with, darling!

See you in October. I hope some of you readers can join the party too!

    Sabrina

I LOVED this book! Jennifer, you know I can’t wait for more-speaking of which…where is the next one?! 🙂 I like things I can use over and over again-small mirrors, manicure kits-I have these things everywhere, pens. I also am obsessed with Romance Trading Cards. I like magnets (I have a very dirty filing cabinet hehe), buttons, and cutsie swag like stuffed animals and such. I saw some cute bondage animal keychains at RT this year but I didn’t get one. 🙁 For paperswag I only keep what is signed. Otherwise I give it away on the blog. Naughty items sound very fun too though! I had lots of condoms and lube in my swag tote when I came back from RT.

I think that naughty items would be completely hysterical – but for USEFUL things, I’d definitely say pens. Shoot me. I’m boring & practical. What would be really cool? What about a scarf with an imprint of your book cover that could serve as dual purpose – a neck scarf (you know, those thin, lightweight ones) but could also be used for some naughty fun with bed posts??

Being a rabid reader, I snag any and all free books. I also like magnets, bookmarks and t-shirts. And if they’re naughty? So much the better! 😀

Jennifer, Together in Cyn sounds like my kind of book. Can’t wait to read it. I’ve never been to a book convention either, and I too am going to RomantiCon 2013. Look forward to meeting you there. 😀 Even though I read most of my books on my kindle now, I still love the bookmarks that list all the authors books and whatever other interesting info the author wants to add. Also, a realtor out here sends out a recipe card every month. A fantastic recipie (with picture) on one side and the other side has info on her and on a property she has sold. You could do something similar. One side your info and your books out and to come, and the other side something creative, recipies, travel, whatever…

I have never been to a convention but I think I would go after the pens. They are great to hand out to people who need one and it gets the word out on the author. 🙂 Trading cards are my other favorite to hand out. They fit perfectly into the pocket to give out to people looking for new reads.
Naught wise I like the idea of a scarf. Two good uses.
I went to a bachelorette party and they were giving out condoms with the date and names of the bride and groom on them. 🙂 I thought it was pretty hilarious. But it did not stop me from taking a few. 🙂

I usually take postcards from artists and free books at Sci Fi Conventions. I have interesting things from STPR as bells and shirts.

I have never been to a convention either. However, a friend of mine went and came home with books and a nightshirt with a custom print of the author’s booklist I think, or maybe it was a book cover. Anyway, I love nothing more than curling up with a good book in a comfy nightshirt, so I would love that. I also collect bookmarks so those would be kept by me at least. 😛

I haven’t been to a convention but if I went to one I think I would love pens, tote bags, and books. I have received swag thru the mail from authors and my favorite was keychains.

I like trading cards or ink pens or small lens cloths. Trading cards are so much fun to collect and then have the author sign them. I have a very nice notebook of them. One can always use ink pens. And the lens cloth is a little more of a unique item, it can come in handy for cleaning glasses or camera lenses! It can also be personalized with the author name.
Can’t wait to meet you at Romanticon!

I have a very good impression of Jennifer Kacey’s work, and I am writing less to win than to show my support. Go, Jennifer! I *am* going to buy this book, so give it to someone more needy.

Pens and post its are the most usable for me. I was sent a BPA free water bottle that was flat like a plastic bag (except for the mouth piece) that expanded when filled with water. I thought that was a great idea and very convenient to carry in a purse to fill from a tap or water fountain. Not sure if it could stand up by itself, so one would have to make sure they pushed down the cap so it didn’t fall over and leak.

I love pens, and the small ‘jump’ drives that fit around wrists; I also love a single autographed copy of one of the author’s books, if possible. Maybe a large plastic ‘tumbler’ to drink from. To be really naughty, how about a small lube and condom set? You know, to be prepared for emergencies! 🙂

My favorite swag item is a small flashlight that goes on a keychain that has the author’s name on it but I enjoy bright colorful pens and lotion and emery boards and…lol…can you tell I like to collect things? Have a great time and thanks for visiting, you have a very fun read.

You guys are awesome!! Some great ideas here and you’ve definitely helped me narrow down the swag ideas. Thankfully I’m pretty proficient in photoshop and have gotten my swag on the past few days. I’ve got pens and buttons on the way and am making trading cards now. I’ll pick a winner tomorrow!
