This time next week…
Tuesday, November 26th, 2013

Some months ago, my mother bemoaned the fact her traveling days were over. My father isn’t in the best of health and likes to stay close to home. He’s not very fond of boats (he gets seasick) or crowds. But my mother has always wanted to go on a cruise. So, I said I’d go with her. We chose a short cruise, one of those hops from Miami to Key West, then on to Cancun and back. Four days only. Long enough to see some things but not wear her out completely, and not so long dad would pine.

On Sunday, we’ll fly to Miami, stay the night, and on Monday, we’ll board the cruise ship. I have guests lined up to entertain you while I’m gone, and I have some pre-posted contests to celebrate the release of Texas Surrender, which happens on December 4th while I’m gone, so you still have plenty of reasons to stop in every day. 🙂

So answer me this: Have you ever been on a cruise? Is there somewhere you’re dying to sail?

I *LOVE* to cruise! I’ve done Royal Caribbean twice, Disney twice and Norwegian once. (Note: First trimester of twin pregnancy plus motion sickness equals green Snarky Mom!) East & West Caribbean. I’d LOVE to do a Mediterranean Cruise! Have an AWESOME time!!

Thanks, Michelle! I did the Eastern Caribbean, 9 days, with Royal Caribbean. It was a blast! And the Mediterranean sounds awesome as well!

Have a wonderful trip, Delilah, and what a delightful way to make your mom’s dream come true. I’m sure you could do with some R&R too. I used to work on a cruise ship and loved it. Where would l like to cruise? Everywhere! I’d gladly live on a ship full time! Happy Thanksgiving!

I have never been on a cruise, but if I did, Alaska would be where I would want to go.

I cruised a lot, probably close to a total of 300 days (usually longer cruises, nothing shorter than 7 days, most 14 days or longer). My most frequent companion was my mother, but she can’t do much these days and no one else has as much time, money or interest in traveling as I do. I’d like to complete circumnavigate Australia.

I’d like to try a cruise but I am afraid I am either going to get seasick or food poisoning, lol. I am still contemplating the feasibility.
