Getting ready for the New Year…and I need help!
Friday, December 27th, 2013

So, every year as I approach New Year’s day, I put together my list of resolutions. I start with my writing wishes. I don’t call them goals anymore, because the darn list I come up with changes so much due to unexpected things, like contracts, invitations, etc. But I do like to layer in all my wishes in pretty blocks on a spreadsheet so I have some sort of picture of what my year could be like—if I could manage to keep focused!

It’s the rest of my life I’m not so sure about. Yes, every year I have some health goal (which gets dropped like a hot potato before the end of the first week!). But what else should be in there?

I’d love your thoughts. What do you include in your New Year resolutions? What would you like to see ME include?

I like Kim’s idea, but you could ask your readers to “help” you with the research. We could do a little independent study and report back.

I am working on my health this next year. I kind of always let things slide since I was taking care of kids and working a full time job. My kids are older now and are all in school so I can take that extra time to myself and get the needed things done.
I also am working on not keeping tons of items that are not needed. If I don’t use it or need it I am going to get rid of it. No need to keep it around. You could say I am going to organize/ go through the house to make room for what I will use and need.

I hate to admit this, but I don’t like to make resolutions, because I hate to fall short of what I thought I wanted. 🙄 It’s easy to make a ‘to-do’ list for a day or a week, but a resolution has this scary absolute for me. I’m sure I’m putting way to much importance on that one word. 😯
Having said all that, I do want to accomplish a few things. I want to meet my goal at Weight Watchers, get more exercise, spend more time with family & friends. Most of my to do list is basic, but seems to get postponed do to rain, time, lions, tigers & bears.

Delilah, my only request for you would be to continue to do just what you’ve been doing this past year. Keeping in touch with us, writing fabulous books and making awesome jewelry. 😀

Health seems to be a theme. I really do need to pay better attention to mine. I’m not getting younger, but I’d like to feel that way!

Gail, thanks for attagirl. Books are priority one in 2014. And art/jewelry has a place too. After I write my daily pages. 🙂

    Hi Delilah
For myself, I need to lose some weight and take better care of myself. I would also like to get a better control of my finances. Only time will tell how much self control I have.
As for you, I cannot say but good luck on whatever you choose to do.
