Happy Songs for the iPod (Contest)
Sunday, April 2nd, 2017

UPDATE! The winner is…Gail Siuba!

* * * * *

On my iPod, I have a playlist called “Happy Songs”. If I want to kick my ass into gear, especially in the mornings when I’d really rather sleep in, I click on the playlist, and before long I’m tapping a toe, then “mattress-dancing”—and then, there’s no goin’ back to sleep. I’m up and smiling.

Only problem is, my happy list is pretty darn short. I’d love your suggestions for more songs to add! And because I’m serious, I’ll give away a small Amazon Gift Card to one lucky, happy-suggester!

Just comment for a chance to win!

Here’s one song already on my “Happy Songs” playlist!

    Dirt on My Boots from Jon Pardi is one of my favorites. I also like Nitty Gritty Dirt Bands song American Dream (google it, you’ll say oh yeah!)

    I’ll have to check out Dirt on my Boots, Laura! I only have a handful of country songs on my iPod, but I’ll try anything. Thanks!

    Debra! I’d put that on my “Have a Good Cry” list! :mrgreen:

    How about a link with samples? I love Pandora, you could set up a channel there to match the theme. I really need to do this too, I am a terrible snoozer in the morning!

    I have a wide range of music tastes. Ok, I’m going to go old school here for a few of my favs: Rare Earth’s-“I Just Want to Celebrate”, Elton John’s “Saturday Nights Alright for Fightin”, Elvis’ “Let Me Be Your Teddy Bear”, These are singalong dance tunes that always make me smile. Other songs that will get the blood moving are J-Lo’s “On the Floor”, Kongos “Take It from Me”, Sly & the Family Stone’s “Dance to the Music”. Walk the Moon’s “Dance With Me”. These are all on my iPod along with a thousand more of very diverse music. 😀

    How about Pontoon by Little Big Town
    And I’m extremely partial to Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyard Skynard

    I love doo-wop music but one of my favorite, more current songs is It’s All About the Bass. Then. of course, there’s always Don’t Worry Be Happy! 😀

    I have a ‘happy’ playlist, too, so I could go on for a long time, but one that always makes me happy is “Shut up and Dance” by Walk the Moon. Or “My Own Worst Enemy” by Lit. “Take Over the World by The Courteneers. “Go to Hell” by Go Radio. I can keep going. lol

    Ok, my first thought was Happy Song by Bring Me The Horizon but it’s a bit of screamy, pounding rock about singing a happy song until you are actually happy. It’s not exactly a happy song. I can’t help but to dance to Remix by New Kids on the Block or Get The Party Started by P!nk.
