No Retreads Here
Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

This morning, I opened my mail to a wonderful surprise. I found another great review for Lockdown, this time from Romance Readers Connection.

“…Ms. Devlin weaves a tale that is raw, erotic, and imaginative. The sexual aspect of this story is phenomenal, both in the sheer eroticism and in its creativeness. The investigation side of the story has just the right amount of intrigue. It was a pleasure to read and I will definitely recommend this fantastic read!”

What’s cool is that I’m managing not to be too predictable. I’ve been at this a while. Sometimes writers retread an old tire because they know it has sold for them in the past, but I just can’t. I have to be excited about what I write, and I always hope that readers will be excited too.

I hope you’ve all bought your copy of Stone’s Embrace. I know you will love it too! It starts in the Louisiana bayou, but heads quickly to Hell. Hades, the ferryman, and The Fates are as real as the girl at the checkout stand. Tell me what you think when you’re done. I’d like to know if I finally jumped off the ledge with this one!

In the meantime, I’m working on revisions of a cowboy ménage. Something sexy, but that will also make you squirm because one of the characters is acting like a jerk. I’m doing my best to figure out exactly what his problem is so he’ll cooperate and let me get this story right!

"Jane's" earning raves!
Saturday, March 7th, 2009

If you haven’t heard, Jane’s one sexy book. Take a look at what these reviewers had to say:

5 Blue Ribbons from Chrissy at Romance Junkies: “…Delilah Devlin is well known for her personable characters and intense storylines and she certainly doesn’t disappoint with JANE’S WILD WEEKEND!…This story had me smiling, tearing up, worried and wanting to hug them all. Of course, Ms. Devlin has plenty of spine tingling sex scenes that will leave readers hot and bothered…This is a wonderful heartfelt story that’s as exciting as it is emotional. A perfect combination in my opinion.”

4 Stars from eCataRomance: “Delilah Devlin is a brilliant author. No matter what she writes it is pure genius. JANE’S WILD WEEKEND is another example of just how gifted Ms. Devlin is…There are not enough words to describe the emotions that flow from the pages of this story…”

4.5 Stars and an orgasmic “O” from Heather at JERR: “…JANE’S WILD WEEKEND was a sinful, page-turning delight!!…Both men are devious characters who make you want to be the filling to their sandwich, even for me, considering I don’t typically care for male/male sex. The plot is quick and focuses on the relationship between the three main characters…The sex is hot!!!!!!!…Ms. Devlin’s books continue to be favorites of mine.”

Also, this just came in for Jane’s Wild Weekend! From eCataRomance…“Delilah Devlin is a brilliant author. No matter what she writes it is pure genius. Jane’s Wild Weekend is another example of just how gifted Ms. Devlin is. The story is sensual and sexy without being over done and the characters come together with a passion that overflows from the pages…Delilah Devlin is one of those authors that you can never go wrong with. Her writing is sensual and provocative at the same time as it is utterly captivating. There are not enough words to describe the emotions that flow from the pages of this story. No matter what she writes about, Ms. Devlin has proven that she is a master of her craft. There is no doubt that whatever she writes next will be a joy to read…”

Woot! I think she liked it!

Hot reviews for the Allure ladies
Saturday, November 8th, 2008

Not much in the way of news today. And it’s O-dark-thirty (that’s Army speak) in the morning, and I’m feeling a little lazy about posting, so I thought I’d share the first couple of reviews the Allure Authors have gotten for our new release, Alluring Tales: Hot Holiday Nights.

5 Blue Ribbons from Chrissy Dionne at Romance Junkies!
“…Once again the Allure Authors deliver an anthology that promises to hold your attention through each and every one of the stories. Each story delivers a delightful array of erotic ventures along with memorable characters and storylines that speak to the romantics in each of us…the perfect book to heat up those cold winter nights.”

5/5 and Top Pick from Night Owl Romance!
“Alluring Tales 2: Hot Holiday Nights is a compilation of wicked fantasy tales written by seven brilliant authors. Each little story is in and of its own an exciting and enchanting journey into the life of two people that have their own fantasy to work out, each colliding at just the right moment, or just the right way for the sparks to fly…”

Progress on Texas Men

Thought I’d share this review that arrived in my email a couple of days ago! CK2S Kwips and Kritiques reviewer, Anne had this to say:

“…Delilah Devlin does a marvelous job at creating a unique and very sensuous world…SEDUCED BY DARKNESS is heavy on the erotica side but every single moment has a meaning…Delilah Devlin writes one heck of a sexy story as the flames between Nicholas and Chessa are blazing hot. SEDUCED BY DARKNESS is not for everyone, as it is a bit daring at times, but those who like their stories on the wild side will love this one!”

SIN’S GIFT is "highly recommended"!
Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Reviewer Jennell at RRTErotic had this to say about Sin’s Gift, the beginning of my new series for Ellora’s Cave:

“…A turbulent relationship and sexy, spooky thrills await readers in SIN’S GIFT. Sin is a woman who feels her call to duty strongly and takes the bumps in her life head-on. She will submit to Jake only in the bedroom, and the tension between them is a sizzling battle of wills. But, Jake has a couple of surprises in store for Sin, as do some other members of San Antonio’s finest. This is a well written and engrossing tale with complex characters who have hidden depths. Enter into other realms with the highly recommended SIN’S GIFT.

Days five and six
Sunday, July 27th, 2008

Last day—whoohoo! The break from my usual scenery and routine has been nice, but I’m ready to get home, read the mail, do my laundry, and get back to some serious work!

Have to admit, I’ll miss the 80-pound retriever. She snuggles up to my back and doesn’t move the whole night long. The border collie mix decided the floor next to me was just the right spot—almost like she was keeping guard while I slept. And the parrot!! I want one so bad now. He’s an absolute riot. When the little one was visiting, the parrot and the girl had a contest to see who chattered most. I loved the noise. When someone called they’d ask, “Is that the parrot?” I’d say, “No, that’s the girl.” A few minutes later, they’d ask, “Is that the girl?” And I’d have to laugh because it was the parrot.

Total mad house. Makes me want to get a goldfish when I get home. Something to take care of, but low maintenance. I know my current limits.

In the meantime, I received this review for the current EC Caveman anthology, Jewels of the Nile I, in the mail. Sonya at Fallen Angels Reviews gave it 5 Angels!!

She said this about my novella, Making the Madam:
“Ms. Devlin will take the readers on a ride on the wild side of the west. Merry and Nathan will have the readers in stitches as the story unfolds. The intense passion will have the readers screaming for more and grabbing lots of ice.”

About the anthology as a whole, she said:
This anthology is a keeper to every romance reader out there that loves a variety of stories in one book. The stories are very intense and give the readers what they want and so much more. I cannot wait to see what the authors will come up with next.”
