Dear Reader!

Did I mention how much I hate shopping? To ease the pain this year, I made a careful list of all the Christmas presents I had to purchase and completed all my shopping in one fell swoop--dragging my darling daughter around the mall until both of us were ready to strangle Santa and his helpers and roast the reindeer's chestnuts over an open fire. But I'm done! Now, I'll procrastinate until late Christmas Eve before I start wrapping them all, and instead, go hunting for gift bags to save the bother. Bah, humbug! I don't get people (my daughter) who love the whole process. All I could think the whole day long was how many pages I could have written. I'm such a Scrooge. Okay, that was really just for fun. I promise I will love opening presents with the family on the day and will eat too much, vow to start my diet the very next day, and not think about writing for maybe the morning, anyway.

December's been nuts. I'm almost done with book three in THE DARK REALM series, tentatively entitled DARKNESS RISING. I finished my next paranormal for Ellora's Cave, called SIN'S GIFT. If you liked the MY IMMORTAL KNIGHT series, I think you're going to love this one too! It's an urban fantasy with two San Antonio cops as the protagonists. I'll let you know as soon as I find out when they plan to release it.

And speaking of the Knights, I hate to disappoint you, but I didn't have time to work on the next installment. However, I do have a consolation treat for you. I received the rights back to a short story I wrote in 2005, a Medieval vampire tale called DARKEST KNIGHT. I'm including a link to the complete story at the bottom of this newsletter. I hope you will enjoy it and not be too disappointed that I've left you hanging once again concerning Quentin's fate at the hands of Kamaria! Next month, I promise to pick right up where we left off — with Quentin entering Darcy's dark dream world.

Some good news. My Quickie, MAKING THE MADAM, has been picked up by Ellora's Cave for inclusion in the first of the Cavemen anthologies for next year! It will be released in March 2008.

INTERVIEW WITH SASHA WHITE

D.D.: Sasha! Thanks so much for joining me for my December newsletter. Do you have any special plans for the holiday?

S.W.: To enjoy some quiet time. LOL Seriously, is it sad that for the holidays I just want to be alone (aside from Christmas dinner with my family). I just adopted a new cat. Scarlet is a year and a half old, and so the holidays is the time for me to keep an eye on her and my current cat, Mystery, as they get to know each other. So far, it's been a lot of hissing and stalking of each other, but no trips to the vet. I'm hoping to keep it that way. *grin* So for me, it's reading, movies and writing a little bit for the holidays.

D.D.: I've been surfing online to find out everything you've been up to lately! Your booklist just keeps growing! Do you want to tell us a bit about your latest release, SEXY DEVIL? What's it about and what inspired you to write the two stories that make up this delightful two-book anthology?

S.W.: I've been busy in the past, but I admit I'll be slowing down. I only have three releases scheduled for 2008. LOL

SEXY DEVIL came about because of my novella THE DEVIL INSIDE. It was the first novella I ever wrote, and I wrote it back at the end of 2004. It's about a blind date mix-up that pairs a conservative hard working guy with a carefree pyschic who helps him find his wild side. It was originally published electronically by Liquid Silver books. When I finished writing TDI, I knew I wanted to do a sequel. Gina's brother and best friend needed some digging in to. However, right around that time is when I sold BOUND and LUSH and a few other stories to Berkley and Kensington, and I got so busy keeping up with them, that I never got around to the sequel. When the rights came back to me from LSB, I approached my Kensington editor about re-releasing it, along with the sequel, and he agreed. So SEXY DEVIL is a bit different in that it is only 2 stories in the anthology, not three, and that the second story continues exactly where the first ended. If you read it right through it flows like a single title, except the second half introduces new characters' POVs, which brings in a few more paranormal elements.

I was a bit worried readers wouldn't like them because the second story sort of open s up a new world to the characters of the first story, but feedback has been wonderful. I love that everyone enjoys the way that while our contemporary world might have paranormal elements to it, not everyone knows that.

D.D.: Okay, I always have to ask a "fluffy" question — what actors would you want to play the main characters in your story and what about those actor's seems to "fit" with your story?

S.W.: For SEXY DEVIL...
Gina Devlin would be Alyssa Milano. It was actually a picture of her in a magazine that brought the character to life for me. She's always seemed so very real, and naturally sexy and sexual. Just like Gina.

Caleb Mann ...I think the closest in looks for me would be Matthew McConaughey. Personality-wise, I loved him because he's the strong, man's man who knows how to treat a woman right.

Angelo Devlin. I have a picture from a magzine of a model I used for him. And I have to say, the guy on the cover of SD...That's Angelo! *drool* To pick an actor...oh...I don't know... probably Colin Farrell.

Jewel Kattalis...again, I'm stumped. She was pure imagination, and I think maybe an unknown actress would be best...

Drake Wheeler...David Beckham. Some of his pictures are the ultimate fantasy material. *blush* (Drake is in both stories in SEXY DEVIL, but his own story, called PRIMAL MALE, will be released next December).

D.D.: What's next for Sasha White? Are you planning to keep up your amazing pace? What can your fans look forward to seeing in the New Year?

S.W.: My first release of 2008 is WICKED. Yep, WICKED is my third single title for Berkley, and it's Karl Dawson's story. Karl was a 'throw away' character in BOUND who just kept popping up. He showed up as the hero's best friend in TROUBLE, and I knew he needed his own story. And his story is yummy. He's a Dominant who lives the Lifestyle, and has given up on ever finding 'the one' — until he meets Lara. Who, by the way, is so not submissive.*grin*

After that we have our next ALLURING TALES book. In Sept I have MY PREROGATIVE form Berkley, and in December PRIMAL MALE. So it's still going to be a busy year, but not too killer.
