6 days of Jane…the prizes!
Saturday, January 17th, 2009

To celebrate the release of Jane’s Wild Weekend, I’m running a week-long marathon talking about “all things Jane.”

As part of the celebration, I will award prize packages on Monday and Thursday. The only thing you have to do to enter is post on my blog. The more days you post, the more chances you have to win. Only one posting a day will be eligible.

On Monday, I’ll offer the winner the choice of two autographed Ellora’s Cave print books from among these titles: Fated Mates, Jacq’s Warlord, Pirate’s Desire and Endless Knight.

On Thursday, I’ll offer a free download of Jane’s Wild Weekend and a $20 gift certificate to Amazon.com.

Be sure to join the celebration and watch for your chances to win! And while you’re entering, I’ll be seducing you into taking Jane, Cody, and Bruno for a test drive!

Next Friday, Jane’s Wild Weekend will be released by Ellora’s Cave, and it’s my hope that you’ll be dying to buy it. To that end, every day until the 23rd, I’ll be doing my best to raise your anticipation to a fever pitch!

I’ll be running a contest and giving away two prizes between now and then. I’ll announce the prizes tomorrrow, but your chance to win begins today. The only way to enter is to post a comment on my blog. Simple, right? Let’s start!

So, what do you need to know about Jane and the boys? You can read an excerpt by clicking on the cover. The cover really does tell the story!

Going all fangirl here
Thursday, January 15th, 2009

I love to plug authors I really enjoy, because it’s rare these days for me find a book I can really get lost in. I’ve become really picky over the years. So, when I was cruising one of my new favorite author’s website a few weeks ago and saw mention that she had a Harlequin Desire coming out, I had to give it read.

First off, I haven’t read a Desire in a long, long time because what I remember of the stories was all vomity angst, which I don’t do. I mean, if a man does you wrong, bitch-slap him and move on. But I was willing to suspend prejudice and try this one because I really do like this author.

Well, the book arrived the day before yesterday and I eagerly broke open the package. Since I’d finished my pages for the day, I thought I’d sit down and read a chapter or two before I went to bed. Big mistake! I ended up staying up late to finish it.

The book is Maya Banks’ The Tycoon’s Pregnant Mistress. Yes, it has one of those titles I roll my eyes at, but what’s inside the same-o red cover isn’t what I expected at all.

Well, sure, it still had a handsome billionaire for a hero—like that’s ever gonna happen to a nice girl who has worked hard to get her own education. He also has the requisite strapping brothers who will undoubtedly have their own stories coming soon. But the relationship that develops between the hero and heroine has very relatable conflicts. I understood his motivations and emotions, and I totally got hers. There’s an amnesia thing going on, but hey, it is a Harlequin. The sex was completely, utterly sublime.

So, if you are looking for a quick read, something that’s sexy and satisfying—I highly recommend the book. You won’t be disappointed. This is my third MB book, and every one has been a keeper.

Excerpt, just cuz it's Wednesday

Here’s a sneak peek at Texas Men, my February release from Kensington.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Welcome to Honkytonk, the hottest town in Texas—thanks to its adventurous women, irresistible men, and sizzling sex…

Bound and Determined
Bar owner Tara Toomey is in the mood to serve bad boy Cody Westhofen more than a drink. What better way to capture his attention—and more—than to kidnap him for a wanton weekend? Tied to Tara’s bed, Cody is more than willing to cooperate…

Breezy Ridin’
When Joe Chavez and a sheriff’s deputy pull over a speeding motorcycle, it’s no surprise the county judge’s naughty daughter Sarah Michelson is behind the wheel—naked. And when she bribes them with a threesome, all laws are suspended as the men prepare for the ride of their lives…

Night Watch
Schoolteacher Amy Keating never planned to be a voyeur, but one innocent glance into deputy Logan Ross’s bedroom window has her hooked. Now she’s into a world of sexual play she never knew existed…

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Note for Readers: You must be of legal age in your country of origin to read this excerpt.

A hot breeze toyed with a strand of hair lying across her breast, but Sarah Michelson wasn’t about to flick it away now. She was already in deep shit and wondering whether she should pour on the syrup and sweet talk the two officers striding her way.

She’d been driving without her headlight, following the pale gray thread of road she’d driven since she’d graduated to adulthood until she hit the winding canyon and had to flip it on. A quick drive-by of the bar and she would have proven she was still the reigning bad girl of Honkytonk.

Then she’d seen the glint of metal at the side of the road and throttled down.

Damn, who knew she’d run into a speed trap on little ole Amman Road?

“Ma’am, I’ll need to see your license and registration.”

Sarah squinted against the spotlight aimed at her from the squad car parked beside the sawhorse barrier and shot a glare at the deputy who’d halted beside her. That glare was signature “Sarah” and would have had most men backing up half a dozen paces. To his credit, Joe Chavez didn’t flinch, but neither did he crack a smile.

So that’s the way he wanted to play it. She could pretend there wasn’t a thing unusual about this particular traffic stop, too. “Officer, I seem to have misplaced it,” she said, dropping her voice to a sultry purr.

“Forgot a few other things as well,” the other deputy Logan Ross drawled, coming close enough she could make out his features in the bright light.

What were they—a tag team?

A burning question
Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Everything’s moving along with the Dark Realm book. I’ve been doing timed writing with anyone willing to hang with me in chat! All I have for you today, is a quick question—another of my burning questions. I love asking them because then I get to learn something about someone else, and you know, we writers are perpetually curious (nosy)! I’ll answer the question in the comments later.

If you could float in a hot air balloon over any city or place in the world, what would you choose to float over?

Man-Day: Temptation
Monday, January 12th, 2009

I admit, I cheated. I intended to find the sexiest pictures of men I could find from combing the Internet and post them on Mondays—just to put a smile on your face at the beginning of a long work week. But I got this in the mail yesterday and thought the man on this cover was pretty damn hot. This one’s out in June, so you have a long wait until you can hold him in your hot little hands! Have a great week! ~DD

Sunday Report Card…and a contest!

Ha! You have to read to the bottom to get the information about the contest!

Progress on Dark Realm-4

Well, after taking a little time off to take care of family biz (did I mention the newest member of the Devlin clan?), I’m back at work on the fourth Dark Realm book. Thanks to everyone who’s kept me company in timed writing sessions, and for those of you who’ve been nagging. I really needed a kick in the ass to get going.

I thought I was stuck in the story and dreaded coming back to it, but something amazing happened when I sat down and put my hands on the keys. I didn’t think, didn’t wonder what was going to happen next, just wrote what I “saw”—and it’s not crap! In fact, it’s pretty darn sexy—raw, actually. I likey.

Another plotting bootcamp kicked off this past Monday, and I have a very active, very enthusiastic group of campers! Every day I have to think about story, think about theme and characters—someone else’s, I know—but it seems to help me figure out what’s working in my own WIP. So I’m really glad to be knee-deep in the class.

I should have started yesterday, according to my plan anyway, on plotting a new western contemporary story—something to send to my agent. But I don’t want to force it. I tried that about three weeks ago and had to deep-six the first chapter because it thoroughly reeked. Learned my lesson. Cowboys don’t like to be hurried along. They stride at their own pace.

So, another frenzied week awaits! Don’t miss tomorrow’s sexy Man-day pic. And about that contest: I updated my contest page. Go check it out!
