Cat Tails Poll #1: Cast your vote to win!
Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

I’ve been mulling around the idea of a new free series to offer through my website and newsletter. One with individual stories rather than series installments—although some of these short stories might span a couple of months. I’d like them to be related by place and have some of the same characters appear throughout these sexy little reads.

And the best part will be that the stories will be centered around a family of feline shifters. I love furry heroes!

I want your help narrowing down the focus for the stories. Let me know what your preferences are. The first question I have for you is where you want these stories to take place. Be sure to vote then post a comment so I know who voted! You’ll be entered to win a $10 gift certificate from Amazon.com!

What would you like to see offered as a contest prize for the next round?

  • A signed and autographed book, reader's choice? (38%, 10 Votes)
  • A grab-bag of things from Memphis, including Elvis memorabilia? (27%, 7 Votes)
  • A pretty fairy journal? (27%, 7 Votes)
  • A fairy ornament to hang on a holiday tree? (8%, 2 Votes)

Total Voters: 26

I voted for the West Texas Ranch. After all, you can’t have too many sexy, sweaty cowboys now can you.

Carol M! I agree. I already set one western there (SADDLED). And if the winning setting is Colorado, I won’t mind taking a field trip to do some location research!

Eva! They are gorgeous. And my brother lives in Colorado Springs. I’d love to take a trip to see him, and then head up to some of the old mining camp towns.

    Amelia! Don’t we all! 😆

Ute! Mine is the only solitary vote for the bayou stories. 🙁

I’m all about Colorado especially since we will be moving back there around the April/May time frame. Plus after tigers my favorite feline peeps are lions of any type.

Delilah, I voted, but I see I’m out numbered on this.

I love Texas and it’s cowboys, but Wyoming would have been my second choice.

BHowever the location isn’t nearly as important as the characters and the story line.

I voted for Colorado Mountains because it seemed like the most “exotic” (read: least used as a setting) option. It would be fun to read something set in a “new” place.

    Hi Delilah-

I voted for Lions (Colorado Mountains). I like them all but like Brandy Lions are my favorite after tigers.

There is nothing (other than wolves, of course) that screams Alpha Male than a Lion “manning” his pride.

I voted for the Louisianna Bayou. I think the deep south gets the short end of the stick with shifter stories. If you wanted to extend territory – All along the gulf with factions in Louisianna and Florida would be good.

hard to pick between the cats. Can’t wait
to see what wins. Panthers have always been my favorite.

I love pumas so I voted for Colorado mountain lion. I think Louisiana is more for vamps and Texas is for cowboys but there is something about the wilds of Colorado and the mountains that would make a perfect story setting. Not overdone or stereotyped. Perfect for a shifter.
