A random question
Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

I have the five-year-old underfoot today. Why do I keep thinking she’s six? She corrected me. I’ll be busy until I unload her later this afternoon, so here’s a question…

If you could experience a sailing adventure/cruise on any river, lake, or ocean in the world, what body of water would you choose for the trip?

I think I’d like to float the Yangtze River. It stretches from Tibet through China and I’ve been dying to see that side of the world. Don’t be shy with your answer. You could choose a rowboat on your grandpa’s pond.
😉

I really like river rafting down the Chatahoochee (been a while since I’ve done that), where you get in a small raft and the current pulls you down river. It’s fun, because you get a very good view of nature and you can get out and swin when you want to.

I would do the Luxor/Aswan cruise down the river Nile in Egypt. I have been to Luxor (by plane) and loved it, the water color and the calmness over there is unbelievable.

I did manage to go to Karnak when I was there and would love to revisit.

Wesley! I haven’t done the Chatahoochee in Georgia, but I have rafted on the white waters of the Nantahala in North Carolina. Loved it. And you can swim in them. The Yangtze is so polluted I’d probably glow if I tried it.

Rasha! I love your idea. Have to add that to my bucket listl. Although again, no swimming with the crocodiles!

For me it would be the Mediterranean, although a night cruise on the Nile sounds lovely, too.

I would love to take a jet boat trip on the Rogue River in Oregon.

That’s a tough one for me – either the Mediterranean Sea or the Caribbean Sea.

I would love to do a Mississippi riverboat cruise. I would like to start in Minnesota and work my way down the different states that it flows through. I’d take my binoculars with me so I could eagle watch, especially in Illinois.

I would love to cruise the Mediterranean Sea with “side trips” into the Bosphorus [where East meets West and cultures collide…hahaha… the drama :o)] and the Aegean Sea.

Jane! Funny, Sasha and i are mulling over a Mediterranean cruise. Have to wait to make plans when my credit card recovers!

Estella! The Rogue River? That’s not something I’ve ever thought of. Will have to google it.

Sonya! Either choice will be enjoyable. I’ve done the Aegean Sea. Why isn’t that considered part of the Med?

Becky! Let me know if you decide to do it! That’s right in my back yard.

Savonna! Me too! Would love to revisit Greece, and haven’t been to Turkey yet.

I’d love to have a cruise in the Meditteranean, that visited Italy, Greece….all in through there, maybe Turkey. That area is such a crap shoot lately but I love it as a setting in some of my fav historical romances so I would love to see it.

Booklover! And wouldn’t it be all the more fun if a group of romance readers took that trip together!

Oooh… I haven’t tried a big cruise yet, but let’s go for it–how about all of them? A round-the-world cruise that hits them all 🙂 I’ve been on a short down-the-Yangtze River cruise, and it was beautiful!

Have never been on a cruise but would love to go. Everyone says the one to Alaska is awesome but I like the idea of the Nile.

I’ve never been anywhere outside the US so any of them would be awesome!!
