What's happenin' in TV Land?
Thursday, April 15th, 2010

I’m really loving IN PLAIN SIGHT this season. Last night, Mary and Rafael broke up, and as much as I love his character, I knew she was all wrong for him. He’s a nurturer who needs someone to take care of. She doesn’t want to be taken care of. She needs someone to knock her on her ass every once in a while, someone she can fight with and not feel guilty about it. It’s amazing how invested I feel in that relationship, and how much relief I felt last night when he finally called off the engagement.

And as happy as I am with IN PLAIN SIGHT, I hate the folks at LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT. You don’t fire the crazy cop (Goren) who keeps you wondering week to week whether he’s going to land himself in the nuthouse. I adore Goren, and I think there’s something sexier than hell about all that leashed anger and angst he holds inside himself. I love Jeff Goldblum, but Nichols just isn’t doing it for me.

CHUCK is rocking along. I love, love, love that is his little buddy at the Buy More is going to be an agent now. It’s hilarious. The only thing I’ve missed so far is a big “Jeffster” moment for me to get out my Jeffster tee and rock out with one of their truly awful karaoke moments.

So what TV shows are you loving? My TIVO needs filling up.

They fired Goren? For real, like, Vincent D’Onofrio is gone? Without him, the show is lackluster for me. I adore Chris Noth but when he was on, I had trouble getting through the episodes where he took the lead and I feel the same way about Jeff Goldblum (but, to be fair, I’ve really only since one episode with Jeff Goldblum).

I’m feeling TV deprived these days, my sons Little League games are keeping me from my shows! I even missed Criminal Minds and CSI: NY last night. Sigh.

P.S. Criminal Minds, House MD, CSI: NY and the Mentalist are all kick ass and I highly recommend them 😀

Man! I won’t watch without Goren, he was what made it all click: maybe they are just building suspense and he’ll be back?

I love Psych, NCIS, Criminal Minds: that’s all I watch and I watch them all in re-runs on USA and A&E. Haven’t turned a network channel on in more years than I can count!

I wholeheartedly agree with you about CI. Goren was so much better with his quirkiness. Goldblum’s trying to be Goren, but he’s a pale imitation.

And you really don’t want to know about all the shows I watch. The list is way too long. I always have the tv on for the noise so I have a lot of time to watch my shows during the day and while getting ready for bed.

I saw In Plain Sight last night. I could tell it wasn’t going to be good news for the relationship, but it was good to see that Mary going to her mom for comfort. Can’t wait to see what’s going on with Brandi and the secretive phone calls and going off to Jersey.

Aimee! Yeah, they fired him. They could have killed him, but maybe they will bring him back, or MAYBE they will create a new show around him. Can you imagine how cool he would be as a private detective?

And thanks for the recommends. I love HOUSE too, but will have to wait for the reruns because it’s up against something I love more—is it BONES? I watch that one too, although the glimpse into their first meeting was very, very disappointing. The characters didn’t behave consistently, and they had the female DA there who Bones didn’t meet until the Hurricane Katrina episode. A big mistake!!

Rachel, yeah, I love Psych too! And I can’t believe I left NCIS off the list. Ziva and Tony are too much fun to watch!

Jody! Background noise, huh? I can’t do that. I like rewarding myself with TV after I’ve done everything on my To Do list. 😆

Jane! Yeah, I’m curious about what Brandi is up to, although I figured out by the way they kept shooting her that the actress is pregnant and they had to write her out for a while.

Sasha! I still have to buy the past seasons of SOA so I can catch up!!

We watch all the CSI’s, both NCIS’s, Criminal Minds, Mentalist (Used to love the Guardian), Love, love Big Bang Theory and hubs has to watch Southpark. Never miss Bones (No House and Bones are not opposite – they are on the same channel)

Also watch a lot of reality TV, Undercover Boss, Celebrity Apprentice, Extreme Home makeover and in the summer So You Think You Can Dance and Big Brother – oh yeah, AI and Dancing with the stars too.

I hate that they have cancelled Numbers. Kinda figured that after the season finale. They wrapped up all the story lines.
