Never put yourself on hold, waiting for something to happen. Live your life, love yourself, and keep moving on.

You will only find true love, happiness, fulfillment and peace from within.

And from Oprah as per Maya Angelou: When people show you who they are, believe them the first time.

“I’m selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.”

The best piece of advice I ever got came from my mom. “If it isn’t going to matter in 5 years, don’t worry about it. It’s not worth all the problems associated with stress.” 😀

Don’t sweat the small stuff. The laundry will be there tomorrow. The dishes aren’t going away. So what if a cart in the parking lot scratched your bumper. Really it isn’t worth blowing a gasket over. Pay attention to the things that you can’t get back. Your kids won’t be in your house forever. Treasure them. Write those stories in your head, don’t let them slip away. Take the trip you always wanted. Now is the time, not tomorrow.

Never go to bed angry with your partner.

It’s advice my grandmother gave to me when I got married and it’s kept me and my husband together for over 35 years now 😀

You will always get what you have always gotten.”

Treat those closest to you as well as you treat everyone else. Would you yell at a perfect stranger for making a simple mistake? Then why would you do that to your child/parent?

Everyone makes mistakes, even adults. Don’t dwell on them, learn from them and move on. It’s how I work with my students to keep them from getting discouraged when they get their work wrong.

don’t sweat the small stuff. if you are always drug down into a mountain of small daily life irritants then you are missing out on life, love and beauty around you.

i say this because i have PTSD and severe anxiety and find it hard to even leave my home. so when i hear people complain about all the unnecessary stuff that they can’t change or do anything about then i guess i get irritated with them.

be happy for what you have because you don’t know when you may loose it!

“It takes courage to love, but pain through love is the purifying fire which those who love generously know. We all know people who are so much afraid of pain that they shut themselves up like clams in a shell and, giving out nothing, receive nothing and therefore shrink until life is a mere living death.”
    ― Eleanor Roosevelt
