Merry Christmas!
Tuesday, December 25th, 2012

christmas

Just a note to wish you all a very, merry holiday, however you choose to celebrate!

My family celebrated yesterday. My dd and SIL headed to DC this morning, so I’ve moved to their house to take care of the 8-year-old, 3 dogs, and 5 cats for the week. I hope they don’t expect to come home to a clean house because amidst all that critter-caring, I have to write a book!

I’d love to hear about the lovely things you received or did. My standout gifts are a gorgeous, hand-crocheted afghan with Ganesh (half-boy, half-elephant Indian god) in the center, a rose-gold ring, a Fenton glass unicorn, and a lampwork bead-making kit—yes, someone trusts me with a torch in my hands! 😈

    Merry Christmas!!

My parents give us cash, which is always appreciated, but doesn’t give you much to open. My dogs gave me a new iPod touch.

Merry Christmas DD! Hubby and I bought a 60″ Sharp TV for our Christmas! Mom and Dad gave me cash, which I’m still holding on to. Not sure where it’s going.

Merry Christmas to you all. Hubby and I got lots of lovely gifts. Some of the more unusual were a dragon incense burner that puffs smoke out of it’s butt-hole and a pair of buxom blondes for hubby (unfortunatelythey were just pin badges for his collection), oh, and I got a book from my daughter (unfortunately I can’t read it as it’s actually a pendant :D).

Oh this is going to be a long day for me. Kids were up a little after midnight…had to send them back to bed..My alarm went off at 330 (silly me I didn’t turn off my alarms for going to work)…My youngest daughter woke up with a fever and a bad cough about 6am….but that did not deter her from wanting to open gifts at that time…I was able to hold off till I got half a cup of coffee down me. 🙂 Presents all opened and kids in their rooms playing. In about an hour I get to go get my brother’s kids for a few hours. So I will have 8 kids running around…and I had little sleep.
I got a water proof camera. A scanner to scan my pictures to save to SD card or my computer. A “coffee fund” piggy bank. Twilight scene it game for my DS. And then two gift cards for Amazon.

    Merry Christmas to everyone!!

This year was great, even if still adjusting to my mom being gone & not having extended family gathering since Grandma passed in Sept.
However, I had the best Christmas watching everyone opening their gifts & turning to me to say “This is just what I wanted,” or that it was the perfect gift. Between my sister’s 6 kids & hubby’s sister’s 4 kids & 3 grandkids (step), great gifts all around is almost impossible. LI even pulled it off for my dad & in-laws. Think I’ll be smirking about that all week 😀 .

For me, hubby &I usually buy our own gifts to avoid bad ideas or hurt feelings (like guys getting wife blenders or me getting hubby the wrong tools). This year I got (myself) a movie collection, but hubby surprised me with $100 Amazon card! I almost cussed in front of his family (Holy Cr**) on Christmas, I was so surprised. $100!! Then, at my sister’s, my Dad gave everyone $100 Visa cards (because of money from mom’s estate). We were all shocked, and the kids were bouncing all over the place. Hubby says that I should be good on books til Valentines 😉

All I have to do now is figure out which books are cheaper on amazon, and which are only available at the publisher’s sites to make the cards last. Now that is a problem everyone should have!

Hope everyone has a great year in 2013!

Had a great christmas as , son came over in morning (we waited for him before we opened)! Then went to our daughters to have dinner and give gifts. Love to see grandsons opening more presents after we got there. Daughter and family were leaving for Florida Christmas evening as they left today with boys on 3-day cruise! I loved all that I got for Christmas, nice furry robe, slippers, boots (have to return) Amazon gift card . More books for my kindle! Too much stuff (not really, I love gifts).
Best wishes for the New Year!
