A Question, After the Interruption…
Tuesday, March 5th, 2013

“We interrupt this program…”

I used to love that opening message I used to hear on radio or TV (for some reason I picture a man cupping an ear and speaking into a big silver microphone). It was ominous. You knew it wasn’t an advertisement, but something you needed to pay attention to. And who was the “we”? I imagined green aliens with long needle-like fingernails, standing behind the bespeckled announcer as he read his lines. Yeah, I know, it began early with me.

So I don’t have anything really important to announce. And I’m not sure why I led with that line, but I go with what pops into my head, and that was it.  Maybe because last night I dreamed that my daughter gave birth to an alien with large slanted eyes and an elliptical-shaped head? And it was huge. half-grown, and already shooting lasers out its eyes.

In Too DeepI should remind you that I have a new book coming out in exactly a week. It’s a lazy, summery, fuckfest. Yeah, I said that too. If you’re needing your FF fix, look no further than In Too Deep! Oh, it’s got a cowboy. Nuff said?

Here’s your question today. Just because I know you have a burning need to share… 🙂

What is your favorite kind of party? A wedding, birthday, hens or stags, New Year’s Eve, Star Party, or tailgate? And what do you like to do for your fave?

A good old fashioned 4th of July celebration. My mom is one of 9 kids and most of my uncles/aunts/cousins live around here. We get together for a big potluck or sometimes a pig roast, volleyball, softball, and lawn chairs. It’s the best of times!!

I like a party with all my girlfriends. We eat and talk. Nothing too crazy we just can talk about anything and everything. One group of my friends have a girls party just to talk about books. I just like to have time to get away from family obligations and just have fun!

I love family get togethers either with mine or my husbands. Doesn’t matter what the reason or the holiday, we always have a good time. My mom was 5th out of 14 children so it was loud, noisy and fun when we were together.

Lisa! When I lived in Florida, we have these great big 4th of July parties in our back yard. Our police and firefighter friends would come and we’d pop off the best fireworks! The neighbors would spread blankets on their yards to watch.

Teresa! That does sound fun. Wish I had a bunch of girlfriends, but I can count them on one hand, and they don’t hang together because they only thing they have in common is me. 🙁

Chris! Okay, I’ll let you have that one. I hate weddings. Hate getting dressed up and it takes so long. My face hurts by the end of the night.

    Ronnie! That does sound nice!

Angel! Wahaha! I don’t think I could run around my town with a dildo on my head without getting arrested. Sounds fun!

Susan! Yikes, sounds like my dad’s family! (19 kids–I know, very Arkansas thing)!

Melissa, passion parties are a hoot!!

Z! Cake is as good an excuse as any for a party!
