Mackenzie McKade: Getting Fiesty! (Contest)
Sunday, June 22nd, 2014

FiestyI can’t believe how time passes. Summer is here and within a couple months we’ll be saying good-bye and welcoming Fall. Which begs me to ask what is your favorite season?

For me it’s summer. Yet the season is bittersweet for me. What I love about Arizona is what I hate about it—the heat! The triple digits definitely are not fun, but they do warm the lakes and pools and makes you want to shed your clothing.  :o)

I enjoy all waters sports that come with the summer. There is something calming about a picturesque ocean, lake, river, or stream. Even the sound of water whether it’s huge waves crashing against the rocks or the gentle trickle of a brook that really gets to me. In fact, it’s the place where I find inner peace. Which is odd because water is also the place I feel more daring.

Although I rival tooling across the sand on an ATV or Rhino speed scares me. I’m not the slowest one on the road, but damn close. My kids say I drive like a grandma.

Hey! I resemble that remark. LOL

But my dislike for speed doesn’t hold up when it comes to jet skis and boating. I love racing across the waves. The wind in my face, the spray of water on my hot skin just does it for me.

When I’ve had enough of the summer heat I love to escape to the mountains. There is something about the scent of pine, the lush greenery, and the solitude that once again makes me sigh and breath in the magic of the land. The beauty of life overtakes me and I feel myself in that quiet place again. The hassles of every day life can’t touch me—nothing can.

So where do you find your inner peace?

Is it somewhere green where the scents and sounds calm you? Is it tropical where the ripple of water caressing the sand or rocks carries you away? Or is it a special room in your house that transports you to another place? Or perhaps it’s a special person who brings out the warm and tranquility in you?

I’d love to hear where you find inner peace. And for taking the time to comment, I’ll pick a name randomly and you can have your choice of one of my ebooks.

I hope you have a wonderful summer! Don’t forget to swing my website or join me on Facebook or Twitter. My new release FEISTY (Whispering Cove) is now available.

Spring for it reminds me of renewal and rebirth. After winter all looks dead fall everything starts dying. With spring and all looks bleak you start seeing a little color then all of a sudden it is life.

Driving seems to settle me. Especially out of the city.. going to Nevada or Arizona seems to be the most restful. I guess any kind of traveling is my renewal time.

Inner peace? Lately I find it hard to find. I used to be able to float in my pool with a book and just float and read. I loved just passing the time floating, it was glorious. Recently I’ve had a nasty outbreak of Rosacea, which is aggravated by the sun & heat. It’s really put a crimp in my inner peace. So I’m trying to adjust and find other ways to chill. 8)

Gardening does it for me– digging in the dirt and growing things soothes me like nothing else. Reading is my escapism, but playing in the soil actually settles me:)

I love spring. I find my inner peace at my home. For a year now I have been commuting between my apartment and my Aunt’s house while I work near her home. When I have consecutive days off I go home and I relax. I also really hate having to leave at the end of my time off. My goal before the end of 2014 is to find a job closer to home so that I can stay at home.

Spring is such a beautiful season. I agree about renewal and rebirth. I love watching baby animals and flowers blooming.

I just put in a herb garden. Needless to say, I don’t have a green thumb, but I love making orzo with basil from my garden. Several of my herbs have died, which breaks my heart.

Gail, I’m sorry about your Rosacea. I should wear sunscreen, but I don’t. I’m sporting a slight sunburn from cleaning the pool today.

Driving/traveling? Hmmm… I’ve never thought of driving as relaxing, but I can see how long trips would allow you to reflect. I end up singing to the radio the whole way, so there isn’t time for reflection. 🙂

Head the hardest time getting to this spot even though I’ve posted before. I would like the book WILD. I read to relax.I also have a lot of plants so I won’t just sit and read all the time (my preference). Delilah you have steered me to several good authors I would have missed, am hoping this is another one.

How do I find my inner peace? With 5 kids and 1 of them Autistic I had to find a way to find my own peace or fall into pieces lol. One way is for me to zen out in my room meditatating, another is reading believe it or not. I find calm in my reading. As for time of the year? I love the beginning of fall, with my garden full of harvest and the weather not too hot or cold.

I LOVE SUMMER! I LOVE THE SUN!
I find peace anywhere as long as it relatively quiet and I have a book with me. My fave is on the beach, sun and breeze, near the water.

Since I live alone, any room in my home is peaceful. When I need peace at work, I take a walk outside. I work close to a residential area so it’s not like I’m surround by buildings and concrete after I walk a block or two.

Thank you everyone who participated. I used a random draw generator and our winner of on of my ebooks is Susan Grosvenor. Susan, if you’ll provide me with email address, which book you’d like, and what format I’ll send it to you.

    Thanks again everyone.
