Fall hit hard this week. Which I both love and hate. Love because I get to pull out the hoodies! Hate because it means winter is coming—not my favorite time of year. 🙂
But there are other great things about fall (one of my favorite seasons). Perfect days of mild weather, clear skies, and fresh air. The colors of the trees as they turn from green to gold, orange and red.
Halloween. So much fun dressing up and taking my kiddo trick or treating. Sports! Football. Hockey.
And school. As much as I love spending the summer with my kiddo, it’s nice to have some free time when she goes back to school. And she loves it as well.
As summer fades to fall and the temperatures drop, schedules pick up, and we prepare for winter I like to pull out some books that heat things up! What do you do when the temperatures turn chilly? What is your favorite season?

“I’m sorry, Ray.”
What? She whipped around to face him. “Why?” she squeaked.
“For that night. For being late. For letting you down. All of it. I hated not getting to spend some time with you.” James clasped his hands in front of him. Her gaze lingered a little below his belt. He cleared his throat and she jerked her head up. At seeing his smirk Ray’s cheeks warmed. She’d been caught.
“I should be apologizing to you, James. It was wrong of me to ignore you. I was being selfish, too worried about myself and how much I wanted to have dinner with you. Everything ended up okay, right? I mean I know it’s been a while, but…” she trailed off. Rambling would get her nowhere.
James grinned. The cooling fire inside ignited once again. “Yeah, sugar. Everything’s good. Shadow was perfect and her foal, Levee, is a beauty.”
“Levee? That’s an odd name for a horse isn’t it?”
“Maybe. I don’t care. She’s named after the Levee Apple Pie at the Owl.”
“Why would you name your horse after an apple pie?” Ray didn’t know much about horses, but she figured an odd name like that had to have a story.
“It’s not the apple pie. Once upon a time I met this girl and I screwed up. So this was my way of reminding myself what can happen if I don’t pay attention.”

Being a native Floridian I really look forward to fall and winter, they are very short here, but if you know how to look you can see the seasons. Yes, the leaves do change color 😉

Fall is my favorite time of the year, although I think a large part of that is that my birthday is in October. 😉 I love wearing jeans, sweatshirts and just being out in the party-cloudy sunny days. The sun just seems so friendly & comforting. As opposed to the suck your breath away heat of the summer. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy all the seasons, but fall is my standout. In the evenings I like to watch a few of my favorite shows, and then get extra comfy with my quilt & a book. Even better for reading is when we get snowed in. My quilt & books are constant companions & keep me warm inside & out. 😀

Gorgeous cover, Jennah! We layer and bundle up when temperatures drop… and yes, we turn the heat up too! Wool socks are awesome, btw–we have some tile floors and those get really chilly when it’s cold! I think spring’s probably my favorite season–love the green and the sense of promise!

I love Fall and Winter. Living in Texas means we don’t get much cool weather so I enjoy it when it’s here with lots of hot cider, soups and chowder. That’s the time of year I enjoy cooking!

My favorite season, by far, is fall and then into winter. Where I live in East Texas, the leaves change into beautiful autumn colors and around my house is breathtaking. And like you, I also enjoy football, especially college.
We have a beautiful rock wall fireplace in our family room and once the weather gets really cool/cold, I just get my kindle, build a big fire and settle in for the day. Being retired does have it’s advantages. Usually we build a fire as soon as we get up and then we keep it going all day. And if I’m very, very lucky, my husband cooks a big pot of homemade soup and I don’t have to do anything except make a pan of cornbread and we’re set.
Nothing better than fall in the piney woods of East Texas. 😆

I like what I read of Finding Her Dream, RayAnne and James story.
I love Fall into Winter because of the cold. I’m going through menopause, so all cold weather is welcome. Also, I enjoy Christmas as I love my trees and decorations. And, get to enjoy my trees as the turn 360 degrees on turners. I can sit and watch for hours in the dark.

I’m an Aussie, so the seasons here are far different from yours. I live in what is known down under as the Sunshine State. Witers in Queensland are practically a non event, and I actually do love the cold.
And guess what? I’ll never seen snow up close and personal! So my favourite season would be Autumn. I love that it’s not too hot, but there is that slight chill factor 😛

I like Spring when every thing is budding out and turning green. It’s like a new beginning. However like Ginger I like fall & winter mostly because I’m hot a lot and it helps. I like sports. We have football and the start of basketball in the fall. It is so pretty when the leaves turn colors. Good time to photograph some pictures.

I cheer when it’s time to open the windows and turn off the A/C (although I groan when the pollen starts kicking up, lol) but my favorite time is Spring…all of that promise of things to come! Nice excerpt!
