Just chatting….and a question!
Sunday, February 22nd, 2015

Psst! Yesterday’s contest will stay open until tomorrow morning, so there’s still time to enter…

My alarm went off at 6:30 this morning, and I said to myself, “Just 5 minutes more…”

Yeah, I woke up two hours later. Guess I really did need the sleep. Or maybe it had something to do with the codeine cough syrup I used last night. The changes in weather we’ve been experiencing has really done a number on me. Yesterday alone, we started out warm and getting warmer. The temperature rose to nearly 70. Then a huge deluge hit. Still warm, but water, water everywhere. When that ended, the temps grew colder and colder until last night we were back in the low 30’s.

I’m f@#*-ing sick of winter!!!!!! There, I said it. I feel better.

My dd and I found some wonderful treasures at the flea market. I found a couple of beaded necklaces with pretty green beads I’m going to repurpose. We found pretty flowered vintage tins. My dd is always quick to swoop in and take the best of those first because she thinks it’s a crime to cut them up, while I look at them and wonder if I can carve pieces out for earrings or a station bracelet. I found vintage map sheets I’ll use for paper beads… Vintage postcards I hope to use in collages or to decoupage a box… An old art magazine that had plenty of pictures of how to draw and paint birds… I think I maybe spent a total of $15.00 for all my treasure. Not much, but that’s the point. It’s fun finding bargains! And isn’t treasure a very personal thing?

This next week is going to be a big ole grizzly bear. I’m dreading it and had to reorganize my schedule to remove a bunch of work because I know it won’t get done. Between doctor appointments in the big city (Little Rock), and working or babysitting to help my daughter out, there’s not much time for new words. Hopefully, March will be more manageable.

This week, I will have two releases…

RulesofEngagemen_600t Dreaming by the Sea

One is about a SEAL-Texan come home to get his girl, and the other’s a paranormal short story. Be watching for those. My sister made both covers. Nice, right?!

How does your week look? Crazy busy? Or are you much better at just saying no to distractions than I am?

Hi Delilah! My week is crazy busy. I work for an accountant during the day and you can imagine what that’s like during tax season. I also sing in the chorus of the local opera company and we are in production week, which means I have rehearsal every night until we open on Saturday night. The theater is about 30 miles from my house which means I will be driving every night straight from work to the theater. So this is a week full of 15 hour days – ugh!

I never used to be able to say ‘no’, but I’ve had to learn over the years that it’s okay sometimes. lol It’s taken a lot of practice.

For me, though, this week is going to be terrific: it’s my last week at the EDJ before I start a terrific new job the following week, so I am super-excited. 😀

Here’s to a better March for you, Delilah!

I think my week will be just normal busy. 🙂 Every Wednesday I help with a “computer clinic” in the community where I live. This will often times result in several “house calls” that end up keeping me pretty busy.

I can’t wait to read Dreaming by the Sea. I have Rules of Engagement and will start reading it today so I can get my review ready for release day.

Mine depends on the damn weather. We got a foot of snow yesterday. I have made a list. Hoping to get out tomorrow and take care of it – need dog food or by tomorrow it will be ugly! And I need treats for my favorite, short legged long boy and other human essentials.

I’m amazed you can write so productively and manage to do some crafting as well. Go, you. Love your covers too.
It’s a roller coaster ride here in Texas. One day the temps in the 80s and the next the 30s. Majorly tired of winter too. C’mon spring.

    Good evening Delilah

Like you, whether it’s going to the flea market or yard saleing, finding a bargain is the fun of it next to finding your treasure.

I just love the cover of Rules of Engagement. And, your sister did a great job on both covers.

    Delilah

As for my week, it depends on the weather here and whether I go to work on time. Fortunately, no outside courses, thank goodness and I will have a chance to play catchup with the accounting book side. Otherwise, prepping for upcoming outside courses and whatever the professors are needing.
