I picked the image. My sister played with it to fit all the text bits in there. When it’s up on Amazon, it will have a little white Kindle World button in the bottom left. This book will be #5 in my Uncharted SEALs series. Do you like it? Does he look ready for anything? Sis tried to cover up his hands in her first versions of the cover. Can you imagine that?!
I’m keeping that image front and center as I write the story. Yeah, I’m in chapter one at the moment. Baby, It’s You has to be up in Kindle Worlds by the 20th for our January 26th release date. I’m cutting it a little close. Since I have to write fast, I decided to stay closer to my comfort zone with this one. Most of the story will take place on a Texas ranch as my SEAL woos the woman he “done wrong.” 🙂
I think his name is Carter Vance. I’ve been calling him that for the first few pages. I’m not sure where the name came from, but when the heroine thought about him, that was the name she plucked for me to use. Does he look like a Carter?
So, my question today, should you decide to play, is whether a book cover matters to you. And what do you think of this one? If I placed a plain brown wrapper on my story, would you buy it? I definitely love to see the cover and it does help me to decide to buy it or not. But once I find an author I love it doesn’t matter as much!!! I know I will love the book!! ????????????????????

A hot guy on the cover will always catch my attention, but sometimes if you couple it with a must buy author, it becomes a no brainer…hot guy + great author = pure bliss!!!

If I’m at a book store its because I’m looking for a specific book. If I’m at a store shopping and they have a book section I’ll be attracted to the cover and will then read the blurb/ teasers and see who the author is to help me decide whether to buy it or not. But a blank cover would draw me in to check it out quicker than any other.

I like the cover but I tend to go by the snipet on the back of the book. If it sounds interesting or not. It could have no cover and a great tag and I’d buy it or a bad cover and a great tag.

Although this is a most interesting cover, *wiping a bit of drool* covers don’t usually sell the book to me. I am more about the title and/or the blurb. If those don’t get me, why open the cover? That being said, I do like looking at pretty men, and for that, I can just down load the cover and gaze. *sigh* So sorry, for me you need to snag me with words if you want me to spend my money. In your case though, just the words Delilah Devlin can do it.

Covers! Covers! Covers!
Initially, it’s all about the cover. That’s what draws me to the book. Especially with a new author. But like Brenda said, if it’s one of my favorite authors, someone I follow religiously, then I’d buy it no matter what the cover looked like.
What’s really great is to find an awesomely HOT cover, like the one above, and have the story by one of my favorite authors, like Delilah Devlin. Doesn’t get any better than that 😆

I can’t resist a hot, sexy cover because more likely it says:” HeY You. Yeah You. You know you want me. I have all the goodies inside my pages for all the romantic hotness you look for in a romance. Let’s face it. You want alpha male, strong female, throw in some conflict, hot loving, and a HEA.
Though I have discovered some gems that had boring covers, but only because there was so much buzz about them. And then there are books from authors whose writing style I enjoy, and they’ll put some weird object on the front cover, but I know its going to be sinful. 😉

I have to admit that sometimes I do judge a book by the cover.
I have found a few new good authors that way and I have gotten some “duds.”

The cover matters very much to me. It sets the tone for the book, and I find myself thinking about the cover image to picture the character(s) throughout the book. In fact, I often look back at the cover image as I am reading.

I mostly DON’T judge a book by its cover. The cover, if there is one, might cause me to read the blurb, but I don’t buy due to a cover. I read the blurb and if it’s well-written (a single grammatical error will make me toss it), and the plot is compelling, I’ll consider buying it. I go from the blurb to the reviews.
If I’m in a supermarket or physical bookstore, a pretty cover might catch my eye, but the blurb always, always, always determines whether I buy.
So, the answer to your questions: If I loved your blurb, I’d buy your book if it was in a brown paper wrapper. I’d probably pick it up, just because you were brave enough to let your words stand alone.
About your cover: It’s gorgeous. I think the name you’ve chosen for your character is a great name: strong, sexy, confident (or he could even be shy, reclusive, but still strong and sexy). The cover is definitely eye-catching. 🙂

If it’s a new-to-me author, the cover is what draws me in so that I read the blurb. If it’s an author that I already “follow”, then it’s just icing on the cake.

Yes, some hotness on the cover helps but the blurb is what has me purchasing a book. The cover can be all that but if it’s a genre that I don’t read, i.e. vampires, forget about it. That not my thing.

The cover is always eye-catching, but my choice usually is based on author. If I am not familiar with the author, I rely on the teaser on the back. But a good cover can complete a really good read. Like topping on the sundae!

I love this cover!!!! Covers are what catches my eye but as someone else said the blurb on the back is more of the reason I will buy a book. If you put a brown paper bag over his hot bod I will have to say it would be a shame, but I would buy it. There are authors who I call my go to authors, with these I buy no matter what is on the cover…you fall in that category!!!!

I do look at covers. I find that covers on paper books are more important to me than cover on ebooks. I hate it when the cover doesn’t match contents of the book. I love it when the cover really captures the story! The cover of the book you shared wouldn’t draw me in. His head looks like it should be a vampire or dystopian novel but the body is romance.

Yes, I do judge a book by its cover. As an artist of sorts I always wanted to be the artist of covers. When in school I made my own covers for all my book reports.

I often pick up a book to check it out based on the cover. What makes me select the book is what time period it is and the premise for the story.
