Not this car. But I now own my Honda Odyssey! Woot! I made the last payment last week!
I’m a little giddy. The payment was an albatross for years. The fam needed something big enough to carry SEVEN people at the same time, thus the hugely expensive van.
I’ve only kept three vehicles over my lifetime past their payoff. The choices of whether to hold onto them were never mine. Either my ex or the situation required a change. So, I’ve only felt this relief and sense of accomplishment three times in my life—my Ford Pinto in 1982, my Toyota Scion in 2007, and now the Odyssey. Of course, I’ve owned a number of used cars over the years. My fave was a 12-year-old powder blue Mercedes, much like the one in this picture, that I bought during my second tour in Germany. I paid cash for it and drove the hell out of it. I hated having to sell it when I left. 🙁

My first car was a 1970 Ford Mustang. I loved that car.

I’ve paid off a 1986 Buick Skyhawk and had it for years. Then I’ve had various used cars that I kept for years. Now I have a 2019 Ford Escape that I will hopefully have for the years after it’s paid off.

My first car was in 1972 dodge Demon. It was given to me when I was in high school. Then I bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I was rear ended before I ever got it paid off. But my first brand new vehicle was a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. I owned it out right. This year I bought myself a new house on 30 acres of land and I needed a truck So I gave my new van to my son and I bought myself a new truck in three years it’ll be all mine.

I owned my Nissan Altima for 18 years. The interior was falling apart, held together by stale French fries and lost LEGO pieces. But it ran like a charm and kinda hated getting rid of it. But got an awesome Rogue in its place and I’ve decked it out with Star Wars decals. So *love*!

My family drove the car until it died and then if they could find a rebuilt engine– New Life. In 1983- my great aunt died and left me some money to — do something bold. So at 20- I bought a Red Pontiac Firebird with T-tops– OMG– I loved that car.
My husband, traded in his car every 2 years. So it took us about 15 years to compromise. I think he’s getting the itch to shop for a different vehicle…I’m ignoring the signs.

First car was a orange Datsun 210 named Pumpkin. The first almost-new car was a white Honda Accord that I still miss today 🙂 Currently switch between a dark red Toyota Sienna and a silver Prius… I LOVE driving the Prius, but can’t beat the Sienna for shopping or road trips!

So Delilah, in 2012, we bought a 2002 Honda Odyssey. We loved it so much that this past month we were looking to buy another vehicle because we already had 186,000 miles on it, we looked for another Odyssey and we found a 2016 Honda Odyssey with only 29,000 miles on it. And we own it, used our savings to buy it.
