Along with writing, I enjoy photography, and I’m continually amazed at the wide range of nature that I see. During the spring, I’m always looking to see the newborn animals. This year, I was fortunate enough to see this fox with her kit.
As well, I was thrilled to come upon this gorgeous young buck with his antlers just beginning to show.
A few weeks ago, while out in the forest, I came across a wild turkey. Thankfully the sun was out when I took this photo so you can see the gorgeous colors of the turkey’s feathers.
I often see bunnies during my walks, but this spring I was fortunate to see my first ever grey bunny.
With temperatures warming, the dragonflies are out. So far this year, I’ve seen brown, blue, red, and green dragonflies. What is your favorite animal or bird that lives in the forest?

What wonderful pictures. You are blessed to be able to catch these brief moments in the forest. My favorite creature in the forest? Rough one. I haven’t had the opportunity to visit a forest, or woods as we call them here, in a long time. However, the house I used to live in was on the edge of town and I had all kinds of critters visit the front porch. My cat wasn’t too fond of the raccoon. They got nose to nose at the window and growled at each other. Didn’t have a camera, so didn’t get a picture, but it would have been a good. I loved to watch the deer craze in the old apple orchard, now horse pasture, across the road. And bunnies – all over. There were a couple of squires I named Rocky and Natasha that liked to harass me. I miss that place. It was almost as good as living in the woods while still being in town.

I love living close to nature. We are further into the country and have wild turkey and an occasional deer. I would love to find a house just a bit further out for more wildlife. I miss when we lived in ND and would get to see a moose crossing the field. The pheasants and deer out in the pasture. I love nature and it’s beauty.

Mine is a (male) cardinal, especially during a snowy winter walk in the woods. To hear his song and look up and see the bright splash of red in the midst of all the brown trunks and snow covered limbs, is just a shot of happiness!

Your photographs are always amazing and I love that you visit Delilah’s blog often. Back when I lived in Ohio we would often see deer in our back yard as well as many other critters.
My favorite animal is the beaver but I’ve never seen one in the wide. I collected all kinds of figurines, pictures, etc. for over 30 years. I’ve never counted but I know I have hundreds. It started out as a joke and grew into something I loved to collect.
Unfortunately, when I moved to Florida, and into a much, much smaller home, I had to box up most of my collection. I haven’t been able to bear the thought of parting with them yet so they remain boxed up for now.

~:) Wow, your cat nose-to-nose with a raccoon would have been an incredible photo. Still, how neat to see such a meeting.
