Celebrate Their Collections (Contest)

In June 15th’s blog, Our Silly Collections… (Contest), I shared a picture of one of my little collections (I am a collector of many odd things). I asked readers to send me photos of their collections to share and offered a prize to one person who shared. Enjoy the photos from these brave souls! And comment below to win a FREE download!

From Jen B.: Dice. These are only the fancy ones in my living room.  I have others.  I love dice because you play games with them and they are great for four math games.

From DD: I love these, Jen! I love how worn and misshapen some of them are. Many, many hands have touched them! Only never gift me with a piece because it would likely get a hole drilled into the piece so it could hang on a necklace or bracelet!

From Katherine Anderson: For me, it’s my crystal collection, each piece was given to me by someone, or belonged to one of my relatives who has passed and then left to me. Each one has a story and means something so that’s why this collection is my most special.

From DD: Katherine, the best collections begin as gifts and bequests! Love passed along. I love your crystals!

 

From Daun Ann Korty: I have two main collections, lighthouses and Wonder Woman.

I love lighthouses because when it’s dark in your mind, their light brings you back to the light and I used to hang out at one in my hometown of San Diego, CA. I’ve also attached a diamond painting I just finished of the lighthouse in San Diego. It’s the old Point Loma or Cabrillo lighthouse.

From DD: It’s a lovely collection! Are you going to frame your painting?

 

I love Wonder Woman, because as a kid, she was my hero and I’ve never fallen out of love with her. Also attached is me in my WW costume my mom made me.

From DD: Wow! Your mom was talented! Love the red boots too. I have a Wonder Woman or two sitting here in my office, but your collection is awe-inspiring!

   OMG! I have looked at so many pieces of dice jewelry but I just can’t do it because then you can’t use them as dice! I love seeing what other people collect. I love love the Wonder Woman costume.

   Yes, the lighthouse diamond painting will be framed. I wore the red boots to nubs. My mom made most of mine and my three daughters Halloween costumes.

   I love seeing the collections. I got sidetracked and didn’t sent any pics of mine. I collect beavers. It started as a joke between my husband and I and soon collecting them became an obsession. They were something fun and unique for people to give me as birthday and Christmas gifts.

   Before moving from Ohio to Florida I had 3 large curio cabinets plus lots that hung on walls. Sadly I had to box everything up when we moved 8 years ago. I did keep one of the cabinets but the only place I have room for it is in my bedroom so no one ever gets to see it. My collection is still mostly in boxes because I haven’t been able to let myself part with them.
