Okay, so my SIL gives me tons of good examples of how a dad should act. This photo makes me laugh but is another example of him teaching his kids.
The 17-year-old boy can’t get it through his brain that he should always lock his car no matter how much of a hurry he is in. So, his parents have decided to go on a campaign to help him remember.
He parked his car in the parking lot outside his fast-food workplace. Dad found the car, noticed that not a single door was locked, so he crept inside and began taking pictures—of the change in his console in open view, of his bookbag on the back seat, and this one of him sitting behind the wheel. Now, the SIL is a handsome man, but he doesn’t mind looking goofy. This photo only went out to family members, but the next time they find his car unlocked, it’s going on Snapchat!

The best dad example I know is my bff’s husband he didn’t have kids of his own, but has stepped up to the plate and is adopting both of her kids. Already talked with the sperm donors and seeing as how one of her children is a girl her sperm donor had no qualms with relinquishing his rights, and her son’s father isn’t in the picture because she has a new husband…..he is literally one of the best men I know.

When I was 21, I went to China for work for a month. When we came back, my plane was late landing in NY and I missed my flight home to RI. When I called home, I was upset and my father asked what hotel I was at and offered to come and pick me up. He is a great dad!

I don’t have an example as my dad was sick with MS before they had any medication. He just wasn’t a dad at that point. I would have loved to have someone that I could go to, who had the answers.

My brother-in-law is the family wrestler. All of the kids know that when he’s in the house it’s going down! He doesn’t care if the kid is a boy or a girl, if they want to wrestle, he’s there. My daughter used to beg to be wrestled and would somehow always end up riding around on his back. It was so darn funny. All the kids just adore him.

My father could fix anything. The handiest and most helpful of people. He loved a challenge.

What a funny and fabulous dad, Delilah! Our dad patiently endured teaching all three of us to drive, which I finally appreciated when it came time to teach our own kids, LOL!

My father was the best example I can think of. He cooked dinner when my mother had to work late hours as a cashier; he helped clean the house; he took my sister and I to swimming lessons at the YWCA on Saturday mornings.
There are many other wonderful things he did but they are too numerous to list. I still miss him and it’s been 31 years since he died.

I love my son in law with his son. He looks so silly when he give my grandson’s brown bear a hug before leaving.

My dad was always so “handy” figuring how to do/make/fix things. Some of the things he had created: a PCV pipe “handle” you could fit over say a water valve under the sink to help open/close it if you had hand/strength problems, an extension to the vacuum cleaner hose so you could vacuum under a sofa without moving it, another extension so you could clean the dryer lint. He even spent two days fixing my old college bookcase using Elmer’s glue and plywood and that bookcase is still sturdy years later.
I miss him 🙁
