Happy Sunday, or maybe not… (Contest–2 Winners)
Sunday, March 27th, 2022

The winner of the Amazon gift card is…Charlene Lowe!
*~*~*

It’s Sunday. I consider it the end of the week rather than the beginning. I reassess where I am in my “plan.” I readjust my goals—usually trying to figure out how many pages I have to write or edit to meet deadlines, what can be put on the back burner because there aren’t enough hours in the day sort of thing. Planning is my happy place (in my previous life, it was my job!), so it’s the best part of my Sunday.

I also make out my grocery list. Gah. I no longer push that off on my dd to decide what I’m going to eat because…Weight Watchers, you know (I’m down 23 pounds, by the way!). Things that are always on it are celery, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, lemons, bananas, apples, sweet potatoes…and then I have to think about the things that might actually make me feel full. Yeah, those are the hard decisions.

I clean up my spaces—my office, art room, and my bedroom. Blech. I can’t seem to keep my housecleaners—I’ve paid professional cleaners and my grandchildren. Everyone gets bored. I think I pay them well, and I’m easy—I don’t inspect their work with a white glove. I really, really hate housework and will do anything to avoid it. But Sunday is the “come to Jesus” time when it has to be done regardless—even if I have to do it. Monday can’t arrive with a messy workspace. I say that, and my idea of a clean desk is neat, squared piles of paper with my toys circling the stacks.

So, that’s my day and you’re probably bored as shit reading through my Sunday To Do list. So, for a chance to win a download of your choice from my backlist (I’ll choose 2 winners), tell me about your Sundays. Is Sunday your end of the week or the beginning? Is it filled with lovely walks in the forest or catching up on chores?

    Good morning Delilah,

My Sunday looks a lot like yours actually. I have to clean up from the prior week. I usually have the meal planning and grocery shopping done on Saturday, so to replace it, I get to do laundry on Sundays. I also am dieting, Weight Watchers is awesome, but I am literally just calorie counting and down 22 pounds, so yea to both of us!! I also love planning and am much better at planning than executing, LOL! Sunday is also the day I try to allow myself at least an hour or two of uninterrupted, no guilt book indulgence. Thanks for the chance to win and for listening. Have a great week!

Congratulations on your successful weight loss with WW. I know from experience losing isn’t easy. My Sunday is pretty much a day to try & plan my meals out for the week. Maybe finish some laundry that’s gathered since the last time. I’m usually babysitting at least one of my two grandchildren, if not both, while their parents do their grocery shopping, and I usually add a few things for them to grab for me. So there might be some movies & a nap involved in my Sunday also. And, as a rule, I do sleep in a bit on Sunday’s.

Sundays are my time for rest, reflection and meditation. Though I usually just read a book or watch movies. The day of rest stems from be raised by a very religious mother, a habit I have chosen to continue even though I am spiritual rather than religious. The reflection and meditation helps me renew for the coming week.

I’m a tax accountant, so Sundays are my only day off during the winter months. It’s my day to work on projects (i mudded the new bathroom wall this morning (finally). Plus I go food shopping most Sundays too. Congratulations on weight loss. That’s great!

Sunday is for decompression after the work week as Saturdays are usually for other chores.
Cleaning is done when I am able and I get my son a to do list too during the week.

Sundays are busy busy busy for me. Today I did some canning and ran to the store to replace a couple of shirts I recently wrecked (don’t ask, I’m a klutz). I don’t normally get downtime on Sunday because I use it to catch up on what didn’t get finished earlier in the week.

Sundays always seemed like the end of the week, that has not changed. As I’ve gotten older the days fly by. My daughter & family live with me, it’s Chaos Central, daughter & hubby are realtors & always on the go. I babysit my grandson, rewarding, busy & exhausting! 😃
    I love it!

Lately my Sundays have consisted of a movie and dinner with family and friends. We started doing this last fall and there are about 8 of us who go regularly. Yesterday we saw the new Sandra Bullock movie The Lost City. It’s pretty much a spoof of romance books but I loved it and thought it was hilarious. About half of our group didn’t like it much.

Almost forgot – congrats on the weight loss! I started alternate fasting about 2 years ago and I’m down about 50 pounds. This is the first time I’ve ever stayed on a “diet” this long. Because I eat what I want on the days I don’t fast I’ve never felt deprived. I hope this is a long-term solution for me. I’ve tried about everything else and can’t seem to keep the weight off after I lose it.
