I’m putting together a basket of goodies on my messy art table to bring to my local art guild meeting tonight. (BTW—I made that basket!) We’re doing decoupage together! So, I have ceramic dishes ready to glue napkins to and small round wooden boxes to do the same. I spent time applying Gesso to all the surfaces to prepare them.
I woke up feeling dizzy AF this morning. It could have something to do with the fact I only had three hours of sleep. Insomnia hit hard. Anyway, I have some work to do before the meeting, and I hope to get a nap, so I’m just popping my head in the door to say hello!
Have any of you decoupaged before? Do you have any good advice for me?

My experience was back in elementary school, so no advice other than have fun.
Insomnia is the worst if I sleep more than 2 hours a night it goes into the winter column. Praying you are able to rest and sleep well tonight – as well as the dizziness dissipates as quickly as it showed up!

No, I haven’t. I think I’d like to try it at least once.

I decoupaged many years ago – I think we used diluted white Elmer’s glue. Now there’s Modge Podge that my Mom used to cover large plastic swan planters with small pieces of fabric with an all over print and edges cut with pinking shears. Let us know what tools & products you use.

I don’t think I’ve decoupaged in decades, so alas, no advice here. I think you’ve generally got an incredible eye for what looks good together, so I think you should just relax and enjoy the process–I’m sure whatever you create is going to look fantastic! I hope you have fun!

We had so much fun last night! Everyone brought their own thing to work on. I used a pretty napkin and some gold leaf paint to make a pretty trinket dish. Some brought cigar boxes and scrapbook paper, flower stickers, etc. We all used Mod Podge with sponge applicators to glue everything down. I’ll post some pictures on Facebook today!
