UPDATE: The winner is…Katherine Smits!
*~*~*
I have been painting. Not every day, like I’d prefer. Some days, I’m just tired and prefer to work on my bucket list of old movies and TV shows I want to consume before…you know. I should be writing, but finding that joy has been harder while I get accustomed to new medical protocols and regaining my old vigor (it’s going to happen!).
This little piece makes me smile so much that I framed it and placed it next to my bathroom mirror so I could see it when I wash my hands or brush my teeth. I like the colors. I like the worried expressions on the fishes’ faces. Plus, I painted it fast—always a win for me. I like to see “the end” of a project, so something quick is a big win for me. Pure joy.
For a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card, tell me what brings you joy!

Crocheting an blanket, especially a “scrappy” blanket. I love reaching into a bag/box and randomly grabbing another color to add to my blanket. They are fun to make, and people love them. I get as much joy when I give the blanket away. The whole process works for me.

LOL! Not for the contest, but the expressions on those sardines are priceless! Here’s the caption I would give the picture: Fish in the middle: me in the center seat in an airplane. Fish on the left: me with my husband sitting next to me when he decides to take the middle seat so I don’t have to. Fish on the right: not me, ever.
Thanks for today’s chuckle!

Your painting is precious! Such character 🙂 there are no judgements here, I understand not having enough spoons to get to the good stuff, and sometimes escapism is just the thing. Reading, painting/sketching, time in nature, my pets, learning, and interacting with others in interesting conversations bring my joy!

I love the little things. I love when my dog brings me her toys to play. I love visiting all of my plants in my garden. I love learning new things. I love getting the feeling of awe.

I too love to watercolor paint. I have lately been doing lots of quilting. I have sewn all my life and really enjoy making quilts. I recently donated some quilts to friends of my daughter who lost their homes in the Altadena, CA fires.

Spending time with my kids–I love when they make time for it, and it is always a balm to my spirit.

My 1 year old grandson brings me so much joy. When I am depressed or just feeling overwhelmed with everything going on, I can go get him and he always makes me feel better. I love that he lives here with us and I have access to him whenever I want.

Getting texted photos of the kids in the family gives me joy and smiles, and getting things organized and out of the house brings me joy as I prepare to move when I find a new house.

Everything, in general, makes me happy. I live simply–by myself, so I can come and go and do as I please. I will say sometimes, the quiet can get to me. Heaven help if a live, real person wrong number ever calls… Plus after all the years of working, I am slowly (real slow here) beginning to go through stuff. But no real hurry.
