Saturday Puzzle-Contest: Poised at the “Star Gate”
Saturday, July 5th, 2025

I adore Sci-Fi movies and TV shows, hence my lifelong dedication to all things Star Trek and my recent binges of shows like Lost in Space and Time Tunnel. I really want to binge the Stargate world, but it’s so big that it’ll take significant commitment. Maybe after I finish up Grimm and Psych, I’ll start the SG series, taking “breaks” with Lost in Space (it’s very cheesy, so small doses!).

Anyway, I came across an image that made me think about the Stargate series. I won’t tell you what it’s about because I want you to solve the puzzle then tell me what you think is going to happen next. Do so for a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card! Have fun with it!

Obviously, the man’s curiosity will win out and he will cautiously move forward through the gate. The question is what will he find? A prehistoric realm, similar to what he currently is in? Perhaps an ultra-modern society? A totally alien landscape? Or total devastation? Let’s roll the dice…
BTW, did you ever watch Blake’s 7?

Oh my! The SG team is about to be ambushed. Though I really don’t think they have much to worry about. It wouldn’t be the first time, and this guy isn’t as heavily armed. It does look like an interesting story though. Wonder what the Goa’uld did to this poor world? Or was it the Ori?

Yep! Stargate fan here. Have seen them all, at least once. My daughter and I recently talked about this franchise. (SG Atlantis and Universe.) I see a potential rewatch in my future.

Cindy! Blake’s 7? I’m going to look that up!

Pansy! Thanks for the endorsement of SG! I’ll move it up the list!

I love SG! It was must watch when it came out. I think this is one of the gates on a far away world. The man was left to watch the opening for changes.

I have never seen the show. From puzzle appears the man is in position to defend himself and his place. Either that or he is hunting for food.

Hmm… it’s always a mysterious opening that beckons. I’m not sure I’m wired in a way that would have me leaping forward to explore, but clearly we need people willing to do that, to be the first, to push forward to see what lies ahead…

He jumps into the portals circle out of curiosity. What is that unusual thing?
