I’m going through a nostalgic phase with my TV viewing habits. I recently rewatched Warehouse 13. I’m currently watching three series that I hop between based on my mood, The Residence (a a fun murder mystery on Netflix), Psych (who doesn’t love Gus and Shawn’s antics?!), and Lost in Space. The latter is a show I watched when it began in the 1960s. It started the year before Star Trek and hooked me on Sci-Fi. I hadn’t rewatched it in all these years but started about a month ago. I’ll be truthful. It doesn’t hold up like the OG Star Trek. It’s hokey, the special effects aren’t very special but bundle it with a hot-as-hell daddy and that theme song/intro, and I’m hooked again. I mean, play this video and tell me it’s not special.
My daughter thinks I’ve lost my mind but had fun working with an AI program to come up with a Lost in Space-style image of me…
Yeah, I would’ve fit right in! Anyway, it’s a sunny Saturday. I have some edits to finish today, and then I’m hitting the pool whether the water is warm enough or not! I hope you all have a wonderful day!
For a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card, solve the puzzle and tell me whether you were ever hooked on a hokey TV show that still gives you the nostalgia-induced warm fuzzies!

I used to watch Lost in Space too (and saw an updated version a few years ago – I think also in Netflix). I watch reruns of MASH occasionally, but that wasn’t very hokie. I happened to watch an old episode of The Andy Griffith Show the other night – that was sometimes hokie.

Every other month when I am at my Grams I am watching a lot of shows that I watched back in the day! Diagnoses Murder with Dick Van Dyke, Matlock with Andy Griffin, Perry Mason with Raymond Burr (love this one) another of my all time favorites The Big Valley. The hooky one that I didn’t think was that bad in the day is the Love Boat…omg it is so corny watching it now but I will do anything to make her happy. we howl at the original Match Game show while I try to guess answers that worked for the questions in the 70’s. Through in the Let’s make a deal both old and new, the price is right and add the new episodes of Wheel of Fortune and that’s all folks! I don’t watch TV at home at all but love it when I have my Gram to share it with! Only show I miss is Battlestar Galactica with Lorne Green and Richard Hatch I mean who doesn’t love some Apolo and Starbuck

I love Pysch. It’s that kind of silly, funny that you just have to laugh at.
When I need to switch off, I fall back to light comedies or feel good romance that doesn’t require much thinking.
Hope you’re recovering from your latest infection x

I remember watching Lost in Space when it was on. One I watched which was kind of hokey was Gilligan’s Island….all that those people had at their disposal when really were just on a 3 hour tour….I laughed over it each week. I agree with you on Psych….those two got into some jams.

Oh yes… There was a lot of hokey TV I enjoyed. But, it all depends on your definition of hokey. Bad sets? Strange story lines? Performers that just didn’t work? Bad dialog? I loved the early scifi shows: Lost in Space, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Land of the Giants… In fact one of the hokiest LIS episodes had one of my favorite actors in it. Daniel J Travanti played a space hippie on a hovering motorcycle. Dark Shadows had caves that shook if someone backed into the walls. There were more.
On a personal note, try getting Blake 7 to watch. An old Brit TV show.

Hmm, nostalgic TV! I watch a lot of it. Right now I am watching Six Million Dollar Man, with The Bionic woman following. Talk about hokey. The effects and fight scenes are so bad, I can actually see the stunt men throw themselves across the room/street/field/whatever space they happen to be in. Too funny. Makes great background though. I don’t have to worry about missing key action, just pay attention to the campy dialog. (BTW, I loved Lost in Space way back when too. That is when I fell in love with Bill Mummy. Oh wait! Maybe that was on Babylon Five.) ;D
