UPDATE: The winner is…Eileen McCall!

I’m feeling lazy today. Insomnia struck last night, and I watched a movie on my iPhone instead of sleeping. Watched a good one with my family earlier in the evening. If you like action and comedy, you have to check out Heads of State. Idris Elba and John Cena? An epic plane crash? Witty puns? Yeah, we enjoyed it mightily!
Anyway, all those foreign settings they zoomed through got me thinking about vacations. For a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card, tell me your ideal vacation. You can solve the puzzle to figure out mine. 🙂

The vacation location doesn’t matter to me it’s the being with loved ones that get along, peace, rest, laughter and fun together without drama or conflict. That would be my dream vacation The best vacation.

Staycations can be a good idea and less work and cost. I’d love to go on an Alaska cruise (not too huge a ship). And I’d love to visit Ireland – I’ve been to the south, but want to get to the north where my Dad was born.

Anywhere with my family. What I have learned is that the people make the vacation.

Anywhere with my husband. I always tip out of hammocks when I doze off.

I like to put my feet in the ocean.

I love to cruise and I never really care if I get off. It’s nice to go but I enjoy just the peacefulness of the ship when most are off on the excursions.

Going to the mountains and hiking.

My hubs and I have had some great adventures. I do love to cruise. But I’m a St Somewhere kinda gal and I love going to warm places and scuba diving – Cozumel or Bonaire are favorites!

I can say, I actually had a mini one of those “vacations” yesterday. I spent the day with my brother and his wife at their home in the country. Lovely. Peaceful. In spite of the overcast skies – threatening rain that didn’t happen, it was a lovely day.

Ideally, if I could physically and financially splurge, I would go back to NYC. I love the city and it’s been too long since I was last there. I think that was ’94. Took the bus by myself Friday after work, rode all night, spent the day walking. I was scouting locations I needed for a book I was writing. Saw a play, went backstage to meet up with the lead British actress. Spent the rest of the day walking and exploring, rode home Sat night and was up Monday morning, exhausted, for work. The city changed so much since them. So much is gone, yet so much is new. I could do it again now–as money, if being frugal, would not be the problem. The problem is purely physical…
