Word Search: Packing for a Trip (Contest)
Tuesday, July 29th, 2025

I have a huge To Do List today. I have work to finish for another author, a myriad of chores to complete, and I need to pack for my trip. Since packing is on my mind, and I couldn’t think of anything else to load my puzzle with, that’s today’s theme! Yay for you, right?

For a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card, what would you add to your packing list? I can already think of one I left off—my laptop!

That list brought back memories. My mom made a 5-column list every year. That was in the days before copiers and computers. She handwrote it using CARBON PAPER to make additional copies to avoid doing it every year. Not only did it have clothes, it was clothing specific: short sleeve tops, long sleeve tops, shorts, long pants, socks, underwear, jackets (etc with heavier clothing depending on the time of year). shoes, slippers, sneakers, bathing suit, towels, etc. Absolutely everything was on that list. The only thing us kids were responsible for was whatever we needed to keep us individually entertained. Saying us, because on the list were decks of cards, board games, badminton, frisbee… If we didn’t bring it, we didn’t need it.
Of course, I eventually converted that to an excel doc. I am sure I still have a copy archived somewhere…

Definitely reading material – reader or physical book. I would also bring a small craft project – mittens, socks, or granny squares to knit or crochet. A selection of tea. These are things for a simple overnight at my brother’s house.
