Catching up with laundry…and contest news!
Monday, April 27th, 2009

I’m baaaack! And oh, my aching feet. I napped yesterday evening in front of the TV, slept solid for about nine hours when I finally managed to get off the couch. I can’t believe how tired I was. I thought I’d paced myself well this time around. Ha!

I brought back a nice stash for my winner. And I have another box I’d like to put together as well of multicultural books. So, if anyone would like to be considered for the multicultural stash, send me an email! Email Me!

I’ll post winners tomorrow and start sharing my RT photos and stories. I had a great time—reconnected with friends, met new friends, drank way too much!! Oh, I did work too. I have an exciting new project that my buddy Sasha White and I pitched to our Samhain editor, but more about that later!

I’m glad to be back. Be patient for a day and then I’ll make an announcement. I have other prize winners that I will be mailing stuff to this week as well, so if you’ve been wondering…I got a little behind trying to get out the door to Orlando. This is catch-up week!

Thanks to everyone for posting. I can’t believe how busy this place has been while I was gone!

Today's all about you!

The contest ends Sunday, so be sure to post!

Before I left for Orlando, I preset my daily blogs to run each day. I’m hoping I had time at the conference to respond to all your comments, but I know you’ll understand if I didn’t. This is the last post until I get home sometime Sunday afternoon. Which means, this is your last time to enter the contest for the box of conference goodies!

All you have to do today is answer this question. Have fun with it!

If, like the newspaper or milk, you could have anything of your choice delivered to your doorstep every morning, what particular item would you want it to be?

New release coming…and a contest!
Sunday, April 19th, 2009

If you wonder where I’ve been, well it’s been a little nuts around the Devlin house lately.

Dad’s out of the hospital at last. He’s home and recuperating, so thanks for all the good wishes!

I finished revisions of the fourth Dark Realm story and shipped it, and have been doodling with new ideas ever since. I can’t seem to land on just one, so I’m letting my brain jump around and just taking notes—maybe something useful will come out of all these unfocused thoughts.

Two big things happening this week. First, I have a new release coming on Friday. Click on the picture if you’d like to read more about it. I’ll post a couple of excerpts this week to whet your appetites!

Oh, and that second big thing? I’m heading to the Romantic Times Convention on Tuesday morning. Can’t wait!!

As for that contest…I always come back with tons of swag (books, promo items) from conference. I’ll send a box of stuff to one lucky winner. All you have to do to enter is post a comment on this blog anytime between April 20th and 26th!

Sunday + a day Report Card
Monday, April 13th, 2009

I’m trying to catch up again. Just when I think I’m there, real life kicks me in the ass again. This time, Dad’s back in the hospital. Kidney failure. We’re hoping for the best. That it’s just a temporary glitch in his recovery from triple bypass surgery.

So, let’s see where I am today.

I mentioned a couple of days ago that I finished Stone’s Embrace and shipped it to my editor (have you seen the cover?). I’m crossing my fingers that she doesn’t throw up all over my very strange little tale. If she does, I hope to be in a better place mentally to deal with it.

I’m still revising the last Dark Realm book. It’s due Wednesday, so that’s my major push for the next few days. I reach a point after I’ve written a story that I want to scream if I have to look at it one more time—and I’m there. My editor loved what she’s seen so far, but wants some tweaks. But I read through it and wonder what the hell was I thinking?

All this week I’m trying to make lists getting ready for the Romantic Times convention. I leave next Tuesday, but still have to box stuff up. I don’t know what the heck I’m going to wear, and unless I can talk Daughter into going shopping with me, I may be in blue jeans because I am sooooo not a clothes horse and would just as soon be comfy.

But I did get a hair cut. The long locks are gone. The hairdresser talked me into throwing away the straightner and letting my curls go. Ack. I don’t know me when I look in the mirror. If you wonder how I’m coping, check out the pic I took of myself: New Do

I know, I look kinda intense. 😉

Menage and The Alpha Male

Inspiration or Perspiration…
Saturday, April 11th, 2009

See the reflection of the lightbulb on my screen? I broke the globe on my overhead fanlight and left it like that when I saw the way the light reflects on my black screen. It’s what I see every morning when I start work.

And today, I’m waiting for that “lightbulb” moment. I’d love the next new idea (preferably something with two naked cowboys) to pop into my head. I have a slew of lovely title ideas from the creative ladies on my loop, but no story to go along with them. Where has my easy imagination flown?

Or maybe I just need to power through these revisions and be done with it. I’m so easily distracted when I’m doing something I really, really don’t wanna do. I’m such a baby. Just eat those green beans! Four of them in one great big gulp rather than mincing them into micro bits to choke them down! Blech.

Free Stuff

Yeah, I knew you’d have to stop and read a message with that title. 😆

My webmistress and I have given my website a much needed update. If you haven’t perused the pages in a while, you’ll want to check out the “Books/Coming Soon” and “For Readers” pages in particular. If you’d like bookmarks or signed bookplates, you can take a peek at what I have there.

I’ve spent the past two days thinking about writing, preparing to write, talking about writing—but guess what? No pages!!! And this morning I have to do the bills, so you know I’m going to lollygag around with that until I’ve frittered away the whole day. Why do I hate revisions so much?
