No puzzle today…

See why?

Never descend a staircase with both hands full and no view of your feet. Last night, I made it nearly all the way down when I stepped on something that shifted, and down I went in perfect slow motion. I had time to tell myself not to tense up, go with the flow… As I landed, I kept my head raised but sacrificed my hand to protect my noggin.  I fractured a metacarpal bone, wrapped it myself for the night then hit the emergency room this morning. After x-rays, they gave me a temporary cast. I’ll get a permanent one in a few days after the swelling subsides.

The minute I got home I headed to my computer, moved my mouse to the left side and opened a document I was editing to see whether I can still work. Working left-handed only is a PITA, but it’s doable. When I opened my own document to write, the lack of speed really hit me. I’m going to have to think about transcription to get my pages written.

And let’s not talk about all the little inconveniences—blow-drying my own hair was a disaster. Pulling up my own leggings after going to the bathroom—okay, nuff said. I’m going to be the grumpiest bitch for the next while.

So, I’m not in the best mood typing one-handed. I better get used to it. Sorry no puzzle, folks.

Sorry, Delilah! Injuries and all that they cause is NEVER fun! Hope you’re not in too much pain, either.

    HUGS!!

Sorry to hear about your arm, hope you heal quickly and get better than ever. Having had a broken wrist, arm, and shoulder issues, I suggest wearing a dress as it’s easier to pull up panties only than let the dress hang instead of pulling up pants of any type.

Oh no! I hope your hand heals up super fast! The older I get the more I’m careful to be able to see my feet where I’m walking. Old age. That’s all i’m saying.

Oh no….that’s gotta hurt. I hope it heals quickly for you. And, no worries about not having a puzzle…when you’re all healed & back to normal then you can get back to doing them.

Oh Delilah! I love & appreciate you even more now because your clumsy is showing!! Your presence of mind in the slo-mo fall is a little disconcerting. The outcome, unfortunately, the same. It seems as we get older we don’t bounce as well as we use to.
My last fall, I was leaving the house with stuff in my hands. Reached in to grab the doorknob to shut the front door. Touch the doorknob once, twice and the 3rd time I stretched to reach. Instead of stepping back in the house, I got stiff & started falling slowly with just enough time to twist & save my cell phone in pocket. I started laughing like an idiot. The dog came rushing over with my brother. He said, “why’d ya do that”? Like it was purposeful. Had to stop laughing before I could get up. The next day I was sore, but it could have been worse! 😂🤣

I broke my humerus bone from the ball of the shoulder on December 20th and had surgery to put in plate and screws to put it back together. I’m now trying to get my arm to raise again. It’s my dominant arm so I know how you feel. Hair is done with the left hand but I can’t put it up or anything. I can type left handed but the hen pecking is not good. I feel for you and understand your frustrations. I will pray for you to get better soon. Keep us updated on your progress.
