UPDATE: The winner is…Tracy Roelle!
*~*~*

I bought this little brainstorming tool years ago at some writers’ conference. “Story Cubes” is a brainstorming game. You roll the dice and whatever pictures appear, face-up, are the ones you use to riff off a story.

To make this fun, I’ll offer a prize—a $5 Amazon gift card—good for purchasing one or two stories…

Have fun with this! Don’t overthink! Here’s the roll…

An older brother has a bossy little sister that demands he plays with her… she has a great imagination and comes up with such interesting games… they go under water in a submarine and see strange creatures… they go skiing on a snowing mountain… they sing songs with monkeys… and go on a scavenger hunt…

I was following a map that took me to the ocean and a submarine. However, I met a nice monkey and he told me to go to the mountains. While there, I was yelled at and pushed into a cactus. I was surprised to find one in the mountains

One bright day on the waves, the monkey spotted a submarine surfacing. It was playing some T. Swift as it emerged from the depths. The cranky man exited the sub carrying a map. He and his little crewmate were headed to the mountains so that they could walk around with their testicles free.
Seriously, I have no idea what that’s supposed to be, so you get what you get. LOL.

A man points to the mountains. “I have my trusty map and I will head into the mountains to study the monkeys.” When he arrives in the mountains he hears loud music. His son looks and him and screams “That music is pretty loud, dad. What do you think is going on?” As they break through a clearing in the trees they find a group of men painting waves on the side of a submarine! What a strange and unexpected sight!” exclaims the man. Little did he know that it was all just a fever dream because he caught a virus.

One day a mother lost her favourite little monkey, because he was sick because of amibia he flew. Furious the mother sent her child to save her monley. Along the way he met a giant who gave him a card in exchange for a song so the little boy started whisteling. Following the card he took a submarine and crossed the sea to enter a new kingdom in the mountains where he became the protector of all monkeys healing them and letting them free

Listening to the music blaring at the neighborhood yard sales, Harry was looking through the books at the local library’s annual fund raising sale. Just as he reached for a book about treasure hunting, another customer and his son pulled it out of his hands. The youngster pulled back on the book and it fell to the ground. Before Harry could intervene, the man headed to the cashier with the book. What he didn’t notice was a folded note that fell out of the book. He shoved it into his pocket forgetting about it.
Later, Harry remembered the note. It was old and yellowed. Gently opening it, he was surprised to find it was a treasure map! Googling the map’s features, he located a possible treasure site. Getting there was not going to be easy.
First he had to get to California, hire a submarine, and sail to the tiny Monkey Atoll in the South Pacific, Harry asked the sub to wait for him while he took a rubber raft to the Atoll’s interior island. Told he only had four hours, he had to hurry. Matching features on the map, he followed the river to the base of the mountains. As he walked along, he encountered a mud like substance. Closer examination showed it was NOT mud, but slimy, amoeba-like creatures that clung fast to his body. In an attempt to get away, he fell into the water. The creatures slid off. Once up the mountains he followed the map further to a cave. There he found an unusual stack of rocks. Moving them, he found a metal box. Inside, wrapped in cloth, was a small golden statue which he slid into his pocket. Checking the time, hurried back to the sub.
