Story Cubes: Tell me a story… (Contest)

UPDATE: The winner is…Deborah Brown!
*~*~*

IMG_8426I bought this little brainstorming tool years ago at some writers’ conference. “Story Cubes” is a brainstorming game. You roll the dice and whatever pictures appear face-up are the ones you use to riff off a story.

Now, I’d like you to tell me a story based on what you see on the cubes. Do any of these symbols tell you anything? You can pick some of the images or use all of them. Comment for a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card!

Have fun with this! Don’t overthink! Here’s the roll…

Bee lighting fast or your parachute may land you on the sheep in the teepee

OMG – I love what Deborah A Brown wrote. I’m not coming up with anything myself.

Life was a bit of a puzzle, but one well worth exploring for all it’s possibilities.

I followed a light which led to a bee. I followed a bee which led to an arrow. I followed an arrow which led to a teepee and pyramid. I entered the teepee and found a lamp which illuminated a sheep nibbling on a huge dice. I went to the pyramid which had happy faces on it. I climbed to the top and found a parachute and put it on just in time for the pyramid to collapse and the parachute saved me.

Rolling the dice was an inspired idea. While bees wouldn’t make ideal subjects, sheep might be just the ticket in our parachuting-to-the-pyramids experiment. The only thing to do was to go out and try to catch one of the woolly creatures roaming the moors… and find transportation to Egypt…

One day the gambler had a new idea for a bet. Launch a dozen sheep from a plane via parachutes and guess which one lands last.

A roll of the dice, a surprise, points to an interesting future! (sorry but that roll of the dice just didn’t talk to me this time)
