Word Search: My Summer Binge List (Contest)
Tuesday, May 6th, 2025

I know some of you don’t watch TV. You prefer reading to television. And binge-watching series is a relatively new thing. When I was younger, I had to keep track of what day a TV show aired and keep my calendar free for that date and time to watch it. Shows like the OG Star Trek, Lost in Space, Dark Shadows, were hard-wired in my calendar, but I still missed episodes! I had to watch Buffy during its first run from the time Spike entered because I missed the previous episodes, but once it went into syndication, I had to pay attention again to when the reruns ran to watch the entire series. It was a PITA, but soooo worth it. However, I’m still a Spike girl.

These days, it’s so convenient to watch an entire series, without missing an episode, and without the week-long gap or seasonal months-long gap to keep the storyline fresh as I watch. I love it. And I have a list of shows I want to watch this summer, beginning to end, as well as seasons of shows (Dark Winds, The Bondsman—Kevin Bacon, ya’ll!). It’s a goal list. And I’m sure not many people keep such a list, but I do. I have another list of movies I can’t wait to watch once they go into streaming, but that’s a topic for another day.

The last couple of years, I watched every single Star Trek series, other than Discovery. I’m in the final season and can’t say why I haven’t buzzed through it. Maybe it’s because I stopped watching Discovery to watch Strange New Worlds. The latter is so much fun, it was impossible not to make the jump. I’ll be rewatching it this summer because sometime soon, maybe in the fall, the next season will drop, and I want to be ready.

I have a summer watch list that’s a mixture of new shows and shows that I feel some nostalgia about, like The Time Tunnel. I keep a list because my attention span is so bad, and frankly, I love lists.

My list is featured below in the word search. For a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card, solve the puzzle, then tell me whether you have a list or single show you intend to binge-watch this summer! Have fun!

I enjoy binge watching many shows. I usually end up watching older ones. I’ve seen Magnum, PI a few times….love that younger Tom Selleck. I watch Hawaii 5-O, Miami Vice (if I can find it somewhere). I love to watch Justifed & every now and then put that on. Comedies I enjoy are Friends & Frasier.

No plans to bingewatch anything. I don’t stream any other channels and there isn’t much I do watch.
If I didn’t have anything else to do, I might consider watching some DVDs I have. The Champions (British TV series) Year 1 of The Paper Chase, Beauty and the Beast…

I am impressed that you have only nine titles on your watch list. Wait, you did mention for just this summer and it is a good list. My list is much longer, but it does include both movies and TV series. I watched Babylon five and Warehouse Thirteen over the winter, but Time Tunnel is still on my list. I am still working on my Star Trek binge, so Discovery and Strange New Worlds is also on my list. (I paused and watched Picard again last month.) I am currently watching original MacGyver. I could go on and on and on, but well, yes I have a list. I add to and subtract from it often.

There are 2 series I want to binge watch Tracker – watched 2 shows with my Gram the last couple of weeks. Now I want to start from beginning before 3rd season starts. Same with the Tulsa King.

I binged Doctor Odessy. Love going on cruises and was interested when this one started but never watched it. Then they advertised the 2 part season premiere about shark attack and that finally got me to watch. I binged the show On Demand. Great show so far.

I don’t usually watch much tv. I love Curse of Oak Island and that’s about to finish it’s season so I don’t have much to watch for a while. I watch a couple of YouTube shows. I love How Ridiculous and Project Fear Channel. They post throughout the year so there’s always something to watch.

Thanks for the fun search! As for watching, no real plans, but I’ve been meaning to watch Ted Logan for ages–just need to see whether I can coordinate with the kids to make sure that a) we have a subscription and b) one of them can help me make sure I can figure out the TV set up, LOL…

I never watched Grey’s Anatomy. I didn’t get what the deal was with it. I binge watched it a couple of months ago. How did people watch that and have to wait a week or a season to watch it. Once I got started, I couldn’t stop. I loved Dark Shadows, I would run home from school to watch it. We are finding all kinds of shows that we are now wanting to binge watch.
