A Question…
Tuesday, January 20th, 2015

I don’t know what I dreamed last night. My cat kept waking me, and if I don’t think about the dream the moment I open my eyes, it’s gone. The cat doing her paddy-cake thing with her claws tends to get my attention. Anyway, I woke up startled, grumbled at the cat, and then knocked over a bag of runes I had on my bedside table. While picking up the pieces, I wondered…

I have occult things all over my place…a collection of fortune-tellers tea cups, a palmistry hand, a crystal ball, two sets of Norse runes, and three sets of tarot cards. Oh, and tons of books! I have more “stuff” but I don’t want to catalog it all.

What I’m wanting to know is whether you do too—
Do you have tarot cards? Do you have a crystal ball sitting
on a shelf gathering dust? Do you have a Ouija board?

No, as a reader, I get my Esp, Paranormal, Fix from my books, not objects. I see how they could be inspiration to you bedroom isn’t the decadent, oasis like getaway I pictured you as having..? More like a typical bedroom, with all of life’s clutter. Ok..Cool 😉

HaHa! No satin sheets or chocolates on the night stand. The bed’s covered in Egyptian cotton, a matelassé bedspread and tons of pillows. I have crazy art all over the walls. Everything’s in lush Moroccan colors. I have TWO curios filled with more crazy stuff (I have a large model of the Enterprise with working parts :)). I have two arm chairs facing my television (one is cheetah-printed). My daughter says my bedroom’s anything but restful…

Nothing like that at my house. I’ve never used a Ouija board either. I did have my palm read in high school, but none of the things she told me turned out to be correct.

Lisa J! I’ve had some wonderful experiences with palm readers and psychics over the years. Sorry yours sucked! One in New Orleans years ago told me I was a writer, and that I would make a name for myself. Well, I’m still working on the second half of that prediction! 🙂

    Jeanne! Wahaha!

No, I don’t have any of that kind of stuff. But I am not a writer. My collections tend toward books, anything with pansies, fabric for sewing or quilting, and yarn. Night stand is piled high with ereaders and my chair in the living room looks like a yarn shop exploded all around it – in spite of the entire room devoted to crafting. And I don’t care what your daughter says, your room sounds interesting.

I do have tarot cards and a few small crystals and odd rocks on my nightstand. That about does it for me. I did have a Ouija board years ago, but I burned it. Yes, it ended up scaring the crap out of me. (Plus, I have my great grandmothers ghost that lives here too, so I think that is enough.)

I have a large collection of tarot and oracle decks here. There’s also a lovely crystal ball, though no ouija board or runes. I’ve got tons of lovely rocks around the house, too, tumbled and faceted and rough. Then there are the books…. 😉

None of that kind of stuff for me. I have books, a curio cabinet filled with a small portion of my collection of beavers (it’s a long story) and junk that hasn’t gotten put away since we moved to Florida over a year ago.

I think the second half of that prediction for you has already come true. The library in Ohio (where I lived all my life until I moved) has a large digital collection of your books. The waiting list for them can be quite long at times.

I have lots and lots of chrystals, runes, astrology charts, books, runes, fantastic art and mystical stained glass lamps and hanging panels,I love walking into my house every single day,I will admit though that I got rid of my Ouija board about 12 years ago after a weird incident with it happened when a friend who is a practicing wiccan came over,I won’t go into details its to strange to explain, however it convinced me that I didn’t want the board in my house anymore lol so out it went,I have never learned how to use the runes though they came with a book, but I read so much for enjoyment that right now Im not really reading to learn anything lol but yeah I love all the stuff Ive gathered from all over the world and I started my collection about 30 years ago but I still have every single piece I ever brought or that was given to me,I shudder to think how much that stuff would cost now,Ive checked some of the artwork that I got signed by the artist years ago,and online it cost 6 times what I paid for it years ago,if I could bear to part with it I could sell it and pay off every bill I have and still have money left over but I can’t give it up so I guess my daughter will have a lot of money after Im gone because she doesn’t like much of it and told me she’s going to sell it!!! If I could Id take it with me but hey it will pay for one of my grandkids to go to college so I guess I will have to be satisfied with that LOL
