UPDATE: The winner is…Shirley Long!
*~*~*

I have this picture I’ve been saving for a short story cover. I love the work vest with the hint of hard abs underneath. Love the gloves that make his hands look larger. But what is he doing out there in the bright sunshine with clouds gathering…?

So, for a chance to win one of my 2018 releases (see previous blog for list), tell me a story about this guy. Doesn’t have to be long or pretty. Just have fun!

While doing maintenance around the tower, Jake wondered what dinosaur/dog made the deposit and does he have to pick it up if it’s in the way.

You said make it fun! He does have kind of a wtf? look on his face.

Ooh I can see him picking up a sledgehammer and getting to work… hmm, getting nice and sweaty… I will be nice and bring him a refreshing cool drink! 😉

What is that? he wondered looking down. He stooped topick it up and found a ring. the inscription looked familiar but was unclear. Unsure what to do next, he pocketed it and decided to wait.

Well, having been married for 48 years to a man who worked on those kinds of towers for 30 years, I can tell you what he’s thinking.

“He’s thinking, dammit, here comes another storm (see the clouds rolling in) and I’m gonna be out hear all f*#@ing night instead of in bed with a hot woman. His look is not happy because he’s gotta call his “woman” and tell her he won’t be there tonite. And promise to make it up to her. But she needs to get use to it because that’s the life of an electrical lineman, his chosen profession. The badder the storm, the longer he works. People have to have electricity and it’s his job, which he freely chose, to get it all back up and running ASAP. Life’s a bitch, but he wouldn’t change it for the world.”

I feel like he is in deep thought about the one he loves. Maybe he has a broken heart. It’s a pretty moody picture.
