Sharing a Picture and Open Contests!
Sunday, July 5th, 2020

In between the rains, we did our own little fireworks thing last night. The little ones love the sparklers and poppers. Here’s the 6-year-old showing off her “technique”. See the streamers? Barely, I know.

We had a few of the bigger fireworks, but after the horses and dogs spooked and this kid declared she was scared by the loud noises, we decided we’d donate our leftovers to someone else. Next year, we’ll stick to the small stuff. We had to bring every dog we own into the house to hide in closets or under the beds. And the poor horses? They hid out in the barn. Not doing that to them, again. It was bad enough the neighbors up and down the road went at it until the wee hours of the morning. Life in the country!

Cats weren’t impressed either and our neighbors on all four sides were doing the really pretty, loud ones that lit the sky. Everyone was finished between 12:30 and 1:00. Today is the lazy lets recoop day.

My cats were not happy… neighbors were setting fireworks off till almost midnight… just glad they were not the really loud ones they have used in the past.

Since one of my Golden’s internet names is “Wimpalicious”, you can imagine that firework times in our neighborhood take pre-planning. As in dosing the dog(s) during dinnertime… LOL! They were so mellow that they actually went out during the neighborhood (one street over) fireworks extravaganza and it took them about 2 minutes to realize there were fireworks going off… and then all 150 pounds of golden retriever was frantically scratching at the back door to be let back in. Oh well – I tried!
