I bought this little brainstorming tool years ago at some writers’ conference. “Story Cubes” is a brainstorming game. You roll the dice and whatever pictures appear, face-up, are the ones you use to riff off a story.

    A knight called Thurmond from a faraway land traveled to the city of New Kitterland with his musical instrument in his backpack with which he planned to play in the city. Along the way he saw some bones of a unknown origin. He began to feel ill after touching them. He ended up getting sick which required finding a doctor who prescribed a medication for the fever and rash he had. After getting well he continued on his journey. With the gears working in his mind with all the thoughts of what he was going to do when he arrived in the city he finally decided that he was going to find a small house to live in while there but for now only fate could tell as he journeyed down the road to his destination.

    There was this magic pill that took me to so many places… to the past and the future… such interesting things to see like dinosaurs, Vikings, etc.

    It’s a book about a woman named Knight who is an paleotologist who’s really an undercover operative. She’s backpacking through the Russian mountains looking for a drug kingpin. It sets the wheels in motion for a series of events that will change her life.

    The first thing I noticed was the musical note and I thought – music is life. I’m afraid I couldn’t come up with any kind of story idea this time.

    I see a time travelling backpacker who takes a pill and travels to different times, and never knows where she will end up.
