Saturday Puzzle-Contest: Revisiting Past Work
Saturday, March 2nd, 2024

UPDATE: The winner is…Debra Guyette!
*~*~*

I’m currently doing the #the100dayproject. Basically, I paint or create some kind of art for 100 days straight and post it. Trying to find subjects for so many days is a challenge in itself. So, I poured over the work I did in last year’s challenge and found a photo of a postcard featuring poppies. I really liked it at the time, but I like it even more now, so I’m going to try to recreate it. I don’t know if I can do a better job. It depends on my patience and whether I use the right paper and paint. Whether I have the brush pen I used before. Maybe I should choose another subject so I don’t disappoint myself, but painting is a lot like writing. You find a niche or topic you like and try to repeat the pattern so you reproduce something you love.

Anyway, enough talk. For a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card, solve the puzzle then tell me about something you’ve done you were proud of and tried to recreate. It can be about anything. How successful were you? Have fun!

I do not think I have tried to recreate anything but in recipes…

2 things. My wire guys. I misplaced the instructions years ago, so I keep trying to recreate them from memory. They should all be the same size, but they are not. In a way, I guess they are more realistic because people are all different.
The 2nd thing is one of my WIPs. When my PC crashed I lost 3 WIPs, but was only to recover 2 of them. I am trying to redo the 3rd, again from memory. I think it is a great story.

I like to crochet and have tried to modify directions to suit me. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.

I love cooking. I’ve made a couple of amazing meals over the years and I love trying to recreate them.

I made a Christmas ornament when I was in high school from geometry shapes. I have tried to do it again and have not been able to do it again.

Some calligraphy pieces that I tried to do again. Sometimes I can improve on things like spacing; other times, it’s not an improvement, LOL! I love seeing your art, Delilah!

I do counted cross stich birth records for the new babies in the family – another baby girl is due in August! I’ve given the parents a choice of either using the pattern of the one I did for them or something new. My oldest nephew chose the old pattern, but I used some special colors for his 4 kids; my niece chose a new pattern – we’ll see what the younger nephew chooses for his expected baby girl.

I think if I did attempt to try and recreate any artwork it was my gnome drawings. I might have come close, but exactly the same.
