Saturday Puzzle-Contest: What I’m bingeing now…
Saturday, March 30th, 2024

UPDATE: The winner is…Jean White!
*~*~*

I’m late posting today because I’m not managing my time well.

I’ve been…distracted. After finishing up work on What Happens in Bozeman, my brain decided it wanted a rest from creating. I’m fighting it. I’ve already started the next story, and I will keep to schedule, but I’ve been dragging my feet.

What I really, really, really want to do is spend a week bingeing some fun Sci-Fi. I’m a Star Trek girl. However, while I’m waiting for new episodes of Discovery, Lower Decks, and Strange New Worlds to drop, I’ve been searching for another fix. I began Seaquest—which, by the way, is dreadful—and only have two episodes left to suffer through. Why did I continue watching when it’s so bad? Because I started it, and I hate not finishing what I start, whether it makes sense or not. A personality flaw, I know.

Last night, I googled “shows to watch if you love Star Trek, and Andromeda popped up in the list of many, many shows I’ve already streamed. Yes, Kevin Sorbo is the main character, but I will overlook that annoyance because it’s a Gene Roddenberry (Star Trek‘s creator!) project—and there are five seasons to gorge on! I was in bed when I reviewed the list. Then I googled “how to stream” and discovered it was FREE on Amazon Prime, so I clicked the link and watched on my phone (which I NEVER do). I didn’t go to sleep until I’d watched the first three episodes, which kept me up into the wee hours of the morning. It’s decent. It certainly caught my attention, and it’s different enough from Star Trek, and yet alike, that I’m definitely not bored.

But it does mean I’m dragging ass today when I have a mile-long list of things to accomplish today. So, onto my first priority—this blog. 🙂

For a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card, tell me whether you’ve watched Andromeda. Or tell me another Sci-Fi show (not Star Trek, not Farscape, not Firefly/Serenity, not Seaquest, not Star Wars) that I ought to check out after I binge my through Andromeda. Have a great Saturday and enjoy the puzzle!

Watched the original Star Trek, Next Generation and the movies. But, I’m not much into the rest of the SciFi shows. Oh well.

Yes, I have watched Andromeda. I enjoyed it. In fact, thank you for the heads up that is streaming on Prime. I have been wanting to binge again. As for another series to Binge – Babylon Five is another favorite of mine. Don’t know if you can find it streaming anywhere though. But in my opinion, worth looking for. It’s five seasons, a couple of movies, and a spin off or two.

Never saw Andromeda. Andromeda Strain, but no TV show. Did you ever watch Blake 7? Or The Champions? Both British. The Champions, while not SciFi, they are sort of connected telepathically and have enhanced senses. There was also an Invisible Man with David McCallum. David was also in Sapphire and Steel with Joanna Lumley. I also enjoyed Genesis 2 (Roddenberry).

You gave me a challenge because I’m terrible remembering names but have you watched V the tv show? It’s campy but I enjoyed it. Or Roswell? It’s a teen romance but it’s total popcorn viewing.

Definitely Battlestar Galactica. Logan’s Run? Dr Who? Are Lost and Stranger Things scifi? Also, have you seen the Mandalorian?

Have not seen Andromeda and have no plans to watch it. I loved the old Star Trek and even enjoyed the various versions and the movies. Like original Star Wars as well. Other than that not into Sci-fi to much.

Have not watched Andromeda yet. If you have not already watch Stranger things it’s really good.

I haven’t seen Andromeda yet. I was pleasantly surprised with the remake of Lost in Space that was made a few years ago.

I have seen Andromeda, I feel it jumped the shark toward the end of the second season. The writer changed after the first season, which I think was a major reason. I enjoyed the cheesy original version of Battlestar Galactica(Lorne Green as Adama) and agree that Babylon 5 was interesting. I grew up watching the early (60s and 70s) Dr. Who and Blake’s 7 before I got into Star Trek and Star Wars. They tried to make a sequel to Babylon 5 called Crusade which didn’t last long but worth viewing. If you are into verrryyyy bizarre sci fi, try Lexx, which started off as 4 movies and became a series.
